The Toronto Maple Leafs are well

Canadas loss having six teams out of the playoffs is Hockey Canadas gain for the upcoming world championship. Allen Hurns Jersey . On Thursday Canada unveiled its first group of 20 players for next months IIHF world hockey championship, which features 12 players from Canadian markets. The Toronto Maple Leafs are well represented with goaltender James Reimer, defenceman Morgan Rielly and centre Nazem Kadri. Twelve of the 20 players are in Canadian markets: the three Leafs, goaltender Ben Scrivens and forward David Perron from the Edmonton Oilers; defenceman Marc Methot and forward Kyle Turris from the Ottawa Senators; defencemen Kevin Bieksa and Jason Garrison and forward Alexandre Burrows from the Vancouver Canucks; forward Sean Monahan from the Calgary Flames and forward Mark Scheifele of the Winnipeg Jets. The Washington Capitals have three players (Troy Brouwer, Jason Chimera and Joel Ward) while the Buffalo Sabres (defenceman Tyler Myers and forward Cody Hodgson) and Florida Panthers (defenceman Erik Gudbranson and forward Jonathan Huberdeau) each have two. Defenceman Ryan Ellis of the Nashville Predators rounds out the initial roster. As expected in an Olympic year, Team Canada will have a young group that doesnt overlap with those who won a gold medal in Sochi. But coach Dave Tippett likes what he has. "Obviously coming off an Olympic year theres going to be a lot of those names that are going to be much different than the Olympic team," Tippett said in a phone interview Wednesday. "But that being said theyre all NHL players, theyre there for a reason and I like our combination. "Weve got some grit there, weve got some guys that can defend, weve got some good skill. So far it looks very good." More players will be added before the tournament starts in Minsk, Belarus, on May 9. That gives Canada some time to consider players on the eight teams eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Teams can only register a total of 25 players for the tournament. Team Canada World Championship Roster By Position Goaltenders: James Reimer, Ben Scrivens Defencemen: Morgan Rielly, Ryan Ellis, Tyler Myers, Jason Garrison, Kevin Bieksa, Marc Methot, Erik Gudbranson Forwards: Cody Hodgson, Nazem Kadri, Mark Scheifele, David Perron, Kyle Turris, Troy Brouwer, Alexandre Burrows, Joel Ward, Jason Chimera, Jonathan Huberdeau, Sean Monahan Mychal Rivera Jersey . Pedroia reached the milestone with a little panache, hitting a grand slam in the sixth inning and propelling the Boston Red Sox to a 7-1 win over the Oakland Athletics on Friday night. A. J. Cann Jersey . Price also posted the longest shutout sequence since 1960 at 164:19 minutes. He stopped a combined 55 shots in Canadas final two games and 70 of 71 shots in Canadas three elimination games, allowing only a breakaway goal to Lauris Darzins of Latvia. For his efforts, Price was named best goalkeeper by the tournament directorate. Prices outstanding play is marred only by the extremely strong defensive play of Canadas top six defencemen; Shea Weber, Duncan Keith, Drew Doughty, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester.Glen Ella says England are determined to show against Australia that northern hemisphere attacks are not limited. Former Wallaby full-back Ella has been installed as the Grand Slam champions skills coach for the three Tests that begin in Brisbane on Saturday, live on Sky Sports. He was approached to take up the position by Eddie Jones - a friend since the pair were five and a former Randwick team-mate - during the Six Nations. The 57-year-old has been entrusted with the task of adding a new dimension to England, while acting as a sounding board to players keen to learn from a respected voice in the game.England and their Six Nations counterparts are derided by some in the southern hemisphere for their reliance on the set-piece at the expense of the vision and guile associated with Australia and New Zealand. England skills coach Glen Ella believes he can make progress with the team over a short period of time in Australia Ella, however, is reminded of the emergence of Wallabies greats such as George Gregan and Matt Giteau when working with the players he must now help guide to victory over his homeland. He said: Its definitely the perception down here of England playing a structured game and we want to prove that wrong. These guys are good, theyve got great skills. In Australia they dont give any credit to the northern hemisphere. They think Super Rugby is much better than the Six Nations. While some of that could be true, its up to us to prove that its not. Eddie Jones will put his unbeaten record as Englands head coach to the test against Australia this summer England are coming down here to test themselves. In a couple of years time, they want to be the best in the world. With Eddie behind them I think theyve got a good chance. To do that theyve got to play the southern hemisphere teams and thats just the way it is. Their skill levels are really good. Ive been really impressed with the squad in general.Their work ethic is fantastic. Theyre a young squad, they want to learn and they want to win. Its similar to whenn the likes of George Gregan and Stephen Larkham were coming through the system. Brad Nortman Jersey. I was assistant to Rod Macqueen in 2000 and 2001 and then to Eddie in 2003. The likes of Matt Giteau were coming into the system. England train for the first time in Brisbane as they prepare for their three-match Test series against Australia The England players are similar because theyre young, they want to learn and they want to be successful.Ella has only agreed an initial three-week contract but is confident of producing results quickly and he added: Its only for the tour I dont want to think about doing anything elseLets hold on until after the tour and well go after that. Weve had two field sessions and during one it was pouring with rain. On Monday was the first time weve had a good blow-out.The impact is minimal at this stage but hopefully, come the third Test, theyll be switched on and moving. You do need time to change. Youre not going to make massive increments over one session.Im just helping the guys along at this stage, giving them some hints, having a look at their running lines and adjusting them as I see fit.I hope I can have some influence so that by the time they come to Sydney theyll be playing the way Eddie wants them to play. homer in the 11th inning off

ST. Tobias Rieder Jersey . LOUIS -- Chicago Cubs closer Jose Veras stumbled first. Then it was Trevor Rosenthals turn to fail -- at the plate and on the mound. Welington Castillo hit a three-run homer in the 11th inning off the St. Louis closer, who struck out with an unusual chance to win it, and the Cubs beat the Cardinals 6-3 on Friday night. "I know he throws really hard," Castillo said. "So I just waited for something over the plate that I can drive, and I put my best wood on it." The Cardinals tied it with two runs in the ninth and had runners on first and second with two outs in the 10th when manager Mike Matheny decided against a pinch hitter. Rosenthal (0-1) took a called third strike in his second career at-bat and said he didnt carry any disappointment back to the mound. "Uh no, because I mean, Im not here to hit," Rosenthal said. "So its easy to kind of brush it off and just go out there and try to have another shutdown inning." Nate Schierholtz doubled for his fourth straight hit leading off the 11th and advanced on a sacrifice. Starlin Castro was intentionally walked and Ryan Kalish popped out on a bunt attempt before Castillo lined a 1-1 fastball 426 feet to left for his second homer. "I figured he might be hunting for a fastball," Rosenthal said. "Looking at the video, I didnt get it up quite as much as Id hoped, but he put a good swing on a good pitch. "Not much you can do about it." Justin Grimm (1-0) walked Matt Holliday and Matt Adams on eight pitches to start the 10th but got out of it, partly because Matheny left Pete Kozma and Tony Cruz on the bench. Grimm struck out Yadier Molina and got Shane Robinson to fly out before facing Rosenthal. Matheny said hed have batted Kozma with less than two outs. He also banked on another shutdown inning from Rosenthal, who needed just six pitches in the 10th. "Youve got a real good feeling hes going to bring us back in with another zero," Matheny said. "We had two shots at getting the guy in from second." Hector Rondon finished for his first career save. Veras hit two batters and walked another in the ninth. One run scored on a passed ball by Castillo, helping the Cardinals score twice in the inning. Matt Carpenters bases-loaded sacrifice fly tied it at 3. Veras has blown both his save chances and has allowed five earned runs in 3 2-3 innings with three hit batters and seven walks. "A shaky outing," Cubs manager Rick Renteria said, "but hes still our guy." Chicago starter Jeff Samardzija worked seven economic innings for the third straight start, exiting with a 1.29 ERA. He finally got some runs to work with, but was denied a win for the ninth straight outing since Aug. 24 at San Diego. "You keep pitching and giving your team a chance to win," Samardzija said. "Everyone is trying to do their jobs and sometimes balls find holes, and sometimes they dont." Ryan Sweeneys RBI single off Carlos Martinez tied it in the seventh and was the Cubs first run in 21 innings when Samardzija starts. Anthony Rizzos sacrifice fly off Kevin Siegrist snapped a tie in a two-run eighth. Cubs pinch hitters were 1 for 18 before the eighth inning when Justin Ruggiano, batting for Samardzija, singled off Martinez, and Mike Olt, batting for Luis Valbuena, singled off Siegrist. Molinas RBI single in the second was his 10th hit in 18 career at-bats against Samardzija. He had two hits and is batting .455 (25 for 55) with three homers and 17 RBIs against the Cubs the last two seasons. Cardinals starter Joe Kelly allowed an unearned run in six innings. He faced the minimum through the first five innings with the help of two double-play balls. NOTES: The Cubs appeal of a hit by pitch call on Allen Craig in the ninth was denied. ... Castro got a strange assist at SS in the fourth when he staggered and dropped Hollidays towering popup with a runner on first. The ball rolled directly to second baseman Emilio Bonifacio for a forceout as Kolten Wong slid back into first. ... Adam Wainwright (1-1, 1.29 ERA) faces Carlos Villanueva (1-2, 4.26) on Saturday. ... Kelly has pitched at least five innings in all 31 career starts, the longest streak by a St. Louis starter 25 or younger since 25-year-old Dizzy Dean went 35 in a row in 1935, according to STATS. ... St. Louis SS Jhonny Peralta was hitless in three at-bats before coming out in a double switch and is 2 for 31 (.063) on the season, both home runs. Antti Raanta Jersey . Colton Sissons also scored for Milwaukee (19-12-8), which went ahead with a two-goal third period. Wade MacLeod and Greg McKegg replied for Toronto (23-12-4). Antoine Vermette Jersey .com) - It appears both the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls will reach the playoffs, but the two squads are coming off losing efforts. PORTLAND, Ore. -- Damian Lillard had 32 points and the short-handed Portland Trail Blazers rallied to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 108-97 on Sunday night. Thomas Robinson had 14 points and a career-high 18 rebounds for Portland, which won its second straight after a three-game slump. Kevin Love scored 31 for Minnesota, which had won three in a row. It was Loves franchise-best fifth straight game with 30 or more points. The Blazers played without All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who missed his third straight game with a groin injury. After trailing by as many as 18 points in the first half, Nicolas Batums fast-break layup gave Portland an 84-80 lead going into the fourth quarter. After Robinsons basket, Victor Claver dunked to extend the lead to 88-80. It was more of the same as the Blazers continued to attack. Robinson, who sparked the second-half comeback, blocked Corey Brewers shot on one end, Claver grabbed the rebound and Will Barton broke free for a dunk that gave Portland a 92-83 lead. Lillards 3-pointer made it 105-91 with 4:14 left, and Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman took Love out with 3:36 to go. The Timberwolves were coming off a 121-104 victory at Utah on Saturday night. Love led the way with 37 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his first career triple-double. Love presented a significant matchup problem for the Blazers with Aldridge sidelined by a left groin strain. Aldridge, who averages a team-high 23.9 points and 11.4 rebounds, is expected to be re-evaluated in the next few days. Aldridge wasnnt the only Blazer hurting: The team was also without forward Joel Freeland because of a right knee sprain and centre Meyers Leonard because of a left ankle sprain. Max Domi Jersey. Love finished with 10 rebounds. The Timberwolves continued to miss centre Nikola Pekovic because of a sore right ankle and Kevin Martin because of a fractured bone in his left thumb. Love got off to a fast start with seven points as the Timberwolves built an early 18-9 lead. By the end of the opening quarter, Love had 13. Minnesota extended the lead to 43-28 early in the second quarter on Shabazz Muhammads short jumper. The Timberwolves stretched the lead to 52-34 after a short jumper and a pair of free throws from J.J. Barea. Portland then got back into the game with an 18-8 run capped by Robinsons two layups and Nicolas Batums 3-pointer, closing the gap to 60-52 at the half. A pair of 3-pointers from Lillard and Batum put Portland in front 74-73. It was short-lived and Love drained a 3 to give Minnesota an 80-76 lead before the Blazers furious fourth-quarter surge. Portland was coming off a 102-94 victory over the Jazz on Friday night. Lillard had 28 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter. NOTES: Love is from Lake Oswego, just outside of Portland. ... Adelman coached the Blazers from 1989-94, guiding the team to two Western Conference titles. ... Love has at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in 10 straight games, the longest run of 25-10 games since Shaquille ONeal had 13 in a row in 2001. ... Love has an NBA-high 47 double-doubles. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

petitive with New Orleans. Anthony Da

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. A. J. Pollock Jersey . - The New Orleans Pelicans brought the hot Detroit Pistons back to earth. The Pistons came in having won of nine of 10, but were never competitive with New Orleans. Anthony Davis had 27 points and 10 rebounds as the Pelicans beat the Pistons 105-94 on Wednesday night. That was a bad performance, and we have to make sure it stops tonight, said Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy. We didnt do anything. We didnt rebound and we didnt protect the paint, which were two big areas of emphasis. We brought absolutely no energy whatsoever to the game. The Pelicans (19-19) were missing Jrue Holliday (ankle), but easily picked up their second win in five games. Tyreke Evans added 18 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Pelicans, while Ryan Anderson came off the bench to score 17.Brandon Jennings had 19 for the Pistons (14-25), while Greg Monroe had 16 points and eight rebounds and was the only other starter to reach double figures. The Pistons only managed three offensive rebounds in the game, usually a strength. That was unacceptable, said Monroe, who led the team in both rebounds and assists (five). We just gave them an easy win. We have to be a lot better than that. The Pelicans dominated the first half, with the exception of Detroits 6-0 run to end the first quarter. New Orleans led 58-36 at the intermission, helped in great part by a 36-point second period that saw them outrebound Detroit 14-2.We played the right way, said New Orleans coach Monty Williams. Thats the only way I can sum it up. We shared the ball; we defended the ball; we played in transition. The Pistons only managed 10 rebounds in the first half to 24 for New Orleans, and had just one second-chance opportunity despite missing 13 of their 15 jumpers in the opening two quarters. Andre Drummond struggled for Detroit, scoring only two points in 17 minutes and saw his team outscored by 21 points while he was on the floor. He didnt get better in the second half, and spent most of it on the bench. This is four games in a row where he hasnt had any energy, Van Gundy said. Tonight, he didnt even rebound. Thats why I didnt bring him back in the second half. He wasnt bringing us anything tonight.New Orleans stayed in control in the third quarter, and even when the Pelicans made mistakes, the Pistons couldnt capitalize. After one turnover, Kyle Singler led a Detroit fast break, only to pass the ball directly to New Orleans forward Dante Cunningham. Singler didnt hustle back on defence, leading to an open 3-pointer for the Pelicans. A furious Van Gundy yanked him from the game. The Pistons scored the final seven points of the period to pull within 83-66, but never posed a serious threat in the fourth. That was fun, said Pelicans guard Eric Gordon. Everyone was scoring and everyone was contributing.TIP-INSPELICANS: Nate Wolters joined the Pelicans on a 10-day contract, but did not play as Monty Williams stayed with his rotation until the final 25 seconds. Wolters had several memorable duals down the street at Oakland University while attending North Dakota State, and ended his college career at the Palace in an NCAA Tournament loss to Michigan.PISTONS: With Detroit playing its sixth game in nine nights, and both Spencer Dinwiddie and Gigi Datome in the D-League, it didnt take long for Van Gundy to empty his bench. Cartier Martin was the only player who hadnt gotten into the game by the end of the third, and he finished the game, but did not score.NEXT UP:Pelicans: Visit the 76ers on Friday.Pistons: Visit the Pacers on Friday. Patrick Corbin Jersey . Arsenal had already scored its goals in the third round fixture when the fierce rivalry turned ugly in the final ten minutes as Walcott was being carried off on a stretcher. Chris Owings Jersey . -- Theres something about playing on Orlandos floor lately that seems to bring out the best in the Dallas Mavericks.CINCINNATI - The Bengals defence is getting closer to full strength with Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict practicing in helmet and pads on Wednesday. Given how the last game went, its an encouraging sign.Cincinnatis defence played its worst game in years, losing at New England 43-17 on Sunday night. The Patriots piled up 505 yards, the most against a Bengals defence since 2007.Burfict has missed the last two gamess while recovering from his second concussion of the season. Luis Gonzalez Jersey. The Bengals missed tackles, had breakdowns in coverage and got pushed around in New England without Burfict in the middle of the defence.Cincinnati (3-1) hosts Carolina (3-2) on Sunday. crash occurred near Bielefeld in western

WOLFSBURG, Germany - Wolfsburg police say Wolfsburg midfielder and Belgium youth international Junior Malanda was killed in a car crash on Saturday. John Starks Jersey .Wolfsburg police official Thomas Schmidtke told the Associated Press that Malanda was killed, and said the crash occurred near Bielefeld in western Germany. He was unable to give further details.German daily Bild reports on its website that the 20-year-old Malanda was a passenger in the back seat of a Volkswagen Touareg that came off the motorway and crashed into a tree near Bielefeld.Bild says the driver and another passenger were seriously injured and taken to hospital, while Malanda was killed instantly.Bielefeld police officer Joerg Haeckel says police could not confirm or deny the report until next of kin were informed.Walt Frazier Jersey . Browns owner Jimmy Haslam announced the move with Young on Monday during a speech at a Pro Football Hall of Fame luncheon. Willis Reed Jersey . In this weeks Leaf Report podcast, James Mirtle and Jonas Siegel debate whether Toronto can continue their shootout dominance and discuss what Dave Nonis game plan should be heading into the trade deadline.MONTREAL -- The throng of 46,121 at Olympic Stadium were rooting more for the defunct Montreal Expos, but they stood and cheered the Toronto Blue Jays just the same. Pinch hitter Ricardo Nanita singled with two out in the ninth to lift the Blue Jays to a 5-4 victory over the New York Mets on a Friday night that was part exhibition baseball, part tribute to former Expos and Mets catcher Gary Carter and part appeal to the world to bring baseball back to Montreal. It was the first game at the Big O since the Expos farewell game on Sept. 24, 2004, before they moved to Washington, D.C. to become the Nationals. The teams will play again on Saturday afternoon, when the Expos 1994 team will be feted. Carters widow Sandy and daughter Kimmy were on hand with his ex-teammates Tim Raines, Steve Rogers and Warren Cromartie for a pre-game tribute to perhaps the most popular player in Expos history. He also played for and won a World Series in 1986 with the Mets. "The city always embraced Gary, and us as a family" Sandy Carter said afterwards. "I really felt that tonight. We made it our home and felt privileged to be here for 11 years." Carter died of brain cancer at age 57 in 2012. The City of Montreal named a street after him outside the Expos original home, Jarry Park. "He was a great teammate, a great player, a great competitor," said Raines, a roving outfield instructor for the Blue Jays. "Him and Andre Dawson taught me the meaning of playing the game. "If I didnt listen to him, Andre Dawson would slap me upside the head." Many other former players and management personnel were on hand to see the Blue Jays come back from a 4-2 deficit to tie the game in the seventh and win it in the ninth. Fans chanted Lets Go Expos throughout most of the game, but all were on their feet for the final inning trying to will the Blue Jays to victory. Munenori Kawasaki opened the ninth with a double and scored from third as Nanita singled up the middle. Jeremy Jeffress pitched the final two innings for the win. Mets third baseman David Wright, a rookie in 2004, called it a fun night. "It brought back a bunch of memories for me," said Wright. "My first road trip in the big leagues was to Montreal, my first home run was in Montreal, so it was nice today to reminisce as bit. "Its nice for us to be able to come up here and break up spring training a bit, because it gets a little boring down there (in Floridda). Kristaps Porzingis Jersey. To come up to a great city with an obviously hungry fan base -- its kind of like a dress rehearsal for us. Youve got the big crowd, you get a little more excited than at a normal spring training game. "Its good practice for Monday (the Mets season opener against the Nationals)." The Mets scored two in the fourth off Jays starter Mark Buehrle on Chris Youngs two-run double. Toronto got one back in the fourth on Jose Bautistas home run, but Ruben Tejada doubled and scored on Daniel Murphys two-bagger off Casey Janssen in the fifth. Former Blue Jays prospect Travis dArnaud led off the seventh with a home run, but Edwin Encarnacion tied it with a two-run single in the seventh off Gonzalez Germen. Encarnacion was tagged out in a rundown after the runners scored. Cromartie leads a movement called the Montreal Baseball Project that is working to get a team back in Montreal, even though estimates are that it would cost more than $1 billion for a team and a new ballpark. The Expos, who became Canadas first major league team in 1969, moved to Washington to become the Nationals in 2004 after a decade of fire sales of top players, dwindling attendance and timid ownership. Cromartie and others are trying to revive baseball interest. They called on Montreal fans to turn out in large numbers to the pre-season games to show that the city will support baseball. "If people think there are no fans here -- you see tonight, the support is here," said Raines. "I think it would be good," said Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie, a native of Langley, B.C. "If the fans show up -- that would be the telling tale. You need that support. But it would be good for Canada." The Mets are old Expos rivals, but the crowd was behind the Jays from the start. There was a big ovation for a diving defensive play by Lawrie in the third and another an inning later for Bautistas homer. But in the stands, there were periodic chants of Lets Go Expos, just like in the old days. The Blue Jays open the season on Tuesday in Tampa Bay, so the trip north from Florida spring training actually took them out of their way. But no one complained of playing in front of huge, supportive crowd. "To be honest, Id rather stay in Florida, but its good for Canada," said Lawrie. "We can suck it up. Its good energy." Buehrle gave up two earned runs and four hits in four innings. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

SANTA CLARA, Calif. Custom New York Giants Jerseys . - St. Louis quarterback Austin Davis had begun mentally preparing for the 2-minute offence if San Francisco took the lead or tied it on a field goal.Wide receiver Kenny Britt opted to say a little prayer that the defence would come through. The Rams did just that, changing their goal-line look for the very possibility Colin Kaepernick might try to take it in himself with the game on the line.St. Louis stuffed him yet again, Kaepernick coughed up the ball and James Laurinaitis recovered to seal the Rams wild 13-10 victory over the 49ers on Sunday. They deserve it, Davis said about the defence. They won us the ballgame today.Defensive end Jo-Lonn Dunbar read Kaepernick perfectly.Jo-Lonn did a great job recognizing sneak, Laurinaitis said. You can just kind of tell by a quarterbacks mannerisms when theyre going to sneak. The play was upheld on review, though Kaepernick clearly thought he was in the end zone with a winning touchdown for the Niners (4-4).I know I crossed the line. I was looking into the end zone, Kaepernick said. The ball came out. I have to hold on to it.Last-place St. Louis (3-5) sure is throwing a wrinkle into the NFC West race after victories over defending Super Bowl champion Seattle two weeks ago and then the 49ers — by a combined five points. Here are some things of note from the Rams victory at Levis Stadium:UNDER REVIEW: A pair of reviewed calls played heavily into the outcome.Referee Jerome Boger found himself answering the questions afterward, noting on the final play there was nothing we could see that could change the ruling on the field. The first half ended in strange fashion. When Phil Dawsons 55-yard field goal try came up well short, Tavon Austin caught the ball near the back of the end zone and brought it out a few yards before backtracking to try to get around the right edge.Derek Carrier tackled Austin in the end zone as the first-half clock expired. As the two teams headed for their respective locker rooms, the head coaches stayed put for the ruling, which was that forward progress was stopped in the field of play and the play stood without a safety.MISSED CHANCES: The 49ers realize they cant afford to lose games like this and stay in the West race. They still have two games with Seattle — including Thanksgiving night at home — and a season-ending matchup against Arizona.San Francisco, which has reached three straight NFC championship games, sits in third place.Weve just got to look at ourselves in the mirror and were going to try to get to this post-season, running back Frank Gore said. Weve got to go do it and stop playing around.MARTINS DEBUT: Marcus Martin picked up a blitz on the 49ers initial drive, leading to a 15-yard catch by Crabtree. But on the next series, Martin had a bad snap on third down that was low and forced Kaepernick to grab the ball near his shoestrings. The rookie centre had his share of growing pains in his NFL debut. He replaced injured starter Daniel Kilgore, lost for the season to a fractured left ankle that required surgery.Martin got beat several times, too, including on Laurinaitis sack up the middle on the first play of the second quarter. They brought a lot of pressure, Martin said. They have a good front seven.Veteran left tackle Joe Staley also struggled to protect Kaepernick. We have all the talent in the world. Weve been doing some dumb stuff and they took advantage of it, Staley said. Penalties, dumb blocks, dumb techniques, and dumb schemes.SACK-HAPPY RAMS: The Rams came into the game with six sacks all season, then took Kaepernick down six times in the first half alone on the way to eight total sacks by six players.Robert Quinn had a pair of second-quarter sacks and forced Kaepernick into a lost fumble on one that set up St. Louis touchdown. We threw a couple different looks at him, Quinn said. The D-line rushed their tails off. When we had an opportunity to get him down, we found a way. Against a guy like him, if you miss him, he can strike off 50-60 yards.BORLANDS TACKLES: Rookie Chris Borland had a career day on an otherwise forgettable afternoon for San Francisco. The rookie third-round draft pick did a fine job filling in for injured linebacker Patrick Willis, who missed his second straight game with a strained muscle in his left big toe.Borland had 18 tackles with 15 solo tackles. He has benefited in the meeting room with Willis and injured All-Pro NaVorro Bowman. Our defence played better overall but just a sour taste in my mouth, Borland said.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Duke Ihenacho Jersey . Playing in his fourth major league game, Polanco broke a tie in the 13th inning with his first homer, helping Pittsburgh to an 8-6 victory over the Miami Marlins after the Pirates had a ninth-inning meltdown. Jonathan Casillas Jersey . -- Canadas Milos Raonic defeated Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France on Saturday to advance to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open.TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs may juggle their lines this week even though they have opened the regular season with three straight victories. Coach Randy Carlyle made some changes at practice Monday as the team prepares for three games against Western Conference opponents. He went back to what worked in Saturdays 5-4 shootout victory over the Ottawa Senators and made a few other tweaks to his lineup. Joffrey Lupul, Dave Bolland and Mason Raymond practised together and are expected to play on a line Tuesday against the Colorado Avalanche. The line was put together midway through the Ottawa game. Nazem Kadri will likely play on the third line with Jay McClement andd Troy Bodie. John Jerry Jersey. Also Monday, the Leafs recalled forwards Trevor Smith and Jamie Devane from the AHLs Toronto Marlies. Devane made his NHL debut Saturday, while Smith — the Marlies captain — had three goals and two assists over two AHL games over the weekend. Smith centred the fourth line of Carter Ashton and Colton Orr in practice. Carlyle said Jonathan Berniers perfect relief outing "makes it easier" when deciding who to start in goal moving forward, making it likely that Bernier gets the nod over James Reimer on Tuesday. The Leafs arent expected to make any changes to the defensive pairings they used against Ottawa. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

finish with a scramble Sunday. After playi

NAPLES, Fla. Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys . -- Defending champions Kenny Perry and Sean OHair shot an 8-under 64 in modified alternate-shot play Friday for a share of the first-round lead in the Franklin Templeton Shootout. The teams of Matt Kuchar-Harris English and Charles Howell III-Justin Leonard also shot 64 on the Ritz Carlton Resorts Tiburon course. The 24 teams will play better ball Saturday and finish with a scramble Sunday. After playing the front nine in 3 under, Perry and OHair birdied Nos. 13-16. "It was a fun day for me," said Perry, the Champions Tour player of the year and Charles Schwab Cup points champion. "When (OHair) poured it in from about 15 feet on the first hole I knew it was going to be a good day for us. We were never in any trouble. "We had a great chance to really go low today and better than 8 under, but thats OK. I mean, alternate shot is a tough format. To me its my favourite format. I love it more than any format of all the three. So, you know, you can lose it. If we get off to a crummy start its hard to catch up with best ball and scramble coming up." Kuchar and English birdied Nos. 12-14 and eagled No. 17. "Yeah, it was a lot of fun playing with Harris," Kuchar said. "I knew he was on some pretty good form and knew I had a good horse for a partner." English replaced the injured Brandt Snedeker in the field "This is a tournament that Ive always watched on TV growing up and it seemed like such a great format and such a good competition," English said. English hit a 6-iron shot from 192 yards to 6 feet to set up the eagle. "When you start hitting some good shots and start getting some momentum, you keep rolling and we did a good job of keeping that momentum going on the back nine and making a bunch of birdies and making eagle on 17," English said. Howell and Leonard birdied the final three holes on the front nine and added birdies at Nos. 10, 12, 13, 17 and 18. "Today we chose Justin to hit first and that was great for me because he drove it in the fairway every time and I could swing away at it." Howell said. Retief Goosen and Fredik Jacobson shot 67, and Jason Dufner and Dustin Johnson matched Chris DiMarco and Billy Horschel at 68. Tournament host Norman and Jonas Blixt had a 72. Chris Long Jersey . Peko, a fourth-round pick in 2006, started all 16 games and a playoff loss to San Diego last season. He was second on the line with 72 tackles and had a career-high three sacks. Wendell Smallwood Jersey . Louis, MO (SportsNetwork. MINNEAPOLIS -- With a bunch of big guys who swing even bigger, these Milwaukee Brewers always have the strength to quickly climb back in the game. They sure powered their way past this latest deficit. Carlos Gomez hit a three-run homer against his former team to spark the comeback for the Brewers in an 8-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. "If we swing the bat like that, were going to really do well," manager Ron Roenicke said. Khris Davis hit a two-run homer off Kevin Correia (2-7) for the lead in the sixth inning to pull Brewers starter Wily Peralta (5-5) out the an early hole created by Oswaldo Arcias grand slam. Jonathan Lucroy tacked on a two-run shot in the ninth, and Francisco Rodriguez finished up for his 18th save in 20 attempts. Thats been a functional formula for the Brewers, whove been in first place in the NL Central since April 5. "Theyve got a lot of guys who can hurt you, and you have to be careful," Correia said. "Obviously you make one pitch at the wrong time, its three runs. Thats happened to us twice in the last two nights." Arcia gave the Twins a 4-0 lead in the third inning, but the young slugger left the game after spraining his right ankle while being picked off second base in the sixth. Peralta was in trouble every other inning, but Arcia was the only one who actually made him pay for it -- and in a big way. After two walks sandwiched around a single, all with two outs, Brewers pitching coach Rick Kranitz visited the mount for a talk with Peralta. Then, the burly 23-year-old Arcia clobbered a 2-2 slider onto the open concourse behind the right field seats, the first grand slam of the season by the Twins. Arcia responded to his curtain call, emerging from the dugout, flipping his helmet off to reveal his intimidating faux-hawk haircut and thrusting both arms in the air to acknowledge the crowd. Peralta (5-5) finished five innings, giving up five hits and three walks while striking out four. He was 0-4 in his previous five starts despite a couuple of strong performances. Chance Warmack Jersey. Naturally, as he matched his shortest turn this season he picked up the win. "He works really hard on every single batter, and you cant keep doing that," Roenicke said. Gomez gave him a boost in the second inning with a sprinting, leaping grab of Trevor Plouffes drive to right-centre field. Gomez crashed against the wall, crow-hopped away from it as he flashed his glove and chopped his arms below his chest in celebration. Then came the bigger play by Gomez, whose all-around potential showed in two seasons with the Twins but was too raw at the time for them to trust him. He tapped his helmet and pumped his arm at each base as he sprinted around the diamond following his three-run drive that brought the Brewers roaring back in the fourth. "Huge getting back in the game. The grand slam just takes that good feeling out of you, and then Gomez comes through," Roenicke said. Gomez batted cleanup for the 13th straight game, hitting .333 with two homers and 12 RBIs in that span. "Every time he walks to the plate hes in scoring position," Davis said. Coincidentally, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire praised in his news briefing before the game the flair that Arcia and Gomez carry, which can irk some players. "I think thats part of the game, man. Youre supposed to have fun," Gardenhire said. Correia hasnt had much fun lately. He was the most reliable starter for the Twins last year, but he gave up a season-high 10 hits while striking out three. His ERA spiked to 6.11, putting his spot in the rotation in question. There was no question for Gardenhire, though. "Kevins one of our starters. Hes paid good money to do that," the manager said, "and hes still going to get paid no matter what." NOTES: Roenicke said Aramis Ramirez, used as the DH to ease him back in from the DL, will return to 3B on Friday. ... Arcia is batting .366 in his last 10 games. ... Gomez is batting .333 in 22 career games against the Twins, with six HRs and 16 RBIs. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

was arrested on suspicion of dom

SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York said Tuesday that he will let "due process take its course" before deciding whether to discipline Ray McDonald after the defensive tackle was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Robinson Zapata Jersey . In his first public comments since McDonalds arrest Aug. 31, York told San Franciscos KNBR radio that he will not punish McDonald until he sees "evidence that it should be done or before an entire legal police investigation shows us something." "I would much rather take shots at my reputation than to put somebody down and judge them before an entire investigation has taken place," York told the radio station. Yorks comments echoed many of the remarks made by 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke in the last two weeks. He reiterated that the team will not tolerate domestic violence and he considers McDonalds arrest serious, however, he repeatedly said he will not act until the investigation is completed. "Im comfortable if my reputation is going to take shots throughout this process," York said. "But my character is I will not punish somebody until we see evidence that it should be done or before an entire legal police investigation shows us something." McDonald practiced all of last week and started in San Franciscos 28-17 win at Dallas on Sunday. Public pressure has been building on the 49ers to sit McDonald down while prosecutors decide whether to charge him. The uproar escalated Monday following TMZs release of new video showing Ray Rice knocking out his then-fiancee in an elevator. The running back has been released by the Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL, which initially suspended Rice two games. York stressed that the public should not lump McDonald and Rice together just because both were arrested on domestic violence charges. "Each case is its own separate case. Ray McDonald is not Ray Rice," York said. "And if theres another one, its not the same as the previous. Each case is its own individual entity. And as a society, we have a sense of saying, Well, you didnt do it right with Ray Rice right away so you need to overdo it with Ray McDonald or whoever else it is. And I dont believe thats the country that we live in. I dont think thats a fair way to approach it." McDonald is out on $25,000 bail following his arrest at his San Jose home where he was celebrating his 30th birthday with teammates and friends. San Jose police have released few details surrounding McDonalds arrest, only saying that officers at the scene saw the alleged victim with "visible injuries." McDonalds arrest came just days after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced tougher penalties for players accused of domestic violence, including a six-week suspension for a first offence and at least a year for a second. Asked about Goodells handling of Rices situation and if he should be reprimanded by owners, York said "it was obviously acknowledged that it was bungled by the league, and they came back and corrected it. Ray didnt take the field in the regular season. He was already down. They suspended him for the year. Could it have happened sooner? I dont understand the video, what was seen, when it was seen, how it wasnt seen. I dont know the answers to that." York said he hadnt spoken publicly about McDonalds arrest until now because the 49ers speak in "one voice." He said his views were expressed earlier by Harbaugh and Baalke, and he felt that was enough. With multiple arrests in the past few years, York admitted the 49ers "havent lived up to that expectation" of acting in a responsible way off the field. He said the team is doing everything it can to make changes. As far as enforcing discipline, though, York cited flaws in the leagues collective bargaining agreement with the players union. "We certainly need to take a very hard look at ourselves as a league and figure out a better way to do this," York said. "Coming back to Ray McDonald, weve got a collective bargaining agreement in place that makes it difficult for the teams to take an action, for the league to take action. We need to set any negotiating aside and figure if theres a better way through collective bargaining and through everything to look at domestic violence." Roger Martinez Jersey . The Thunder earned the Game 1 win with a 100-86 victory Saturday night. Oklahoma City dominated the first half and led by 22 at the break, but saw its lead shrink to just two points in the fourth quarter. Carlos Bacca Jersey . - Titans quarterback Jake Locker will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot, leaving Tennessee trying to rally with Ryan Fitzpatrick.LOS ANGELES - With sluggish starts costing his team two of their last three games, Dwane Casey has considered making a change to the lineup ahead of Friday nights contest against the Clippers. The Raptors have been outscored 88-66 in the opening quarter over a three-game span to begin the month of February. Their most recent loss, 109-101 in Sacramento on Wednesday, was eerily similar to Saturdays defeat at the hands of the Trail Blazers. After digging themselves an early hole on both nights, the Raptors were unable to close out late-game comeback bids, forcing Casey to question his first units disposition. "Every team has their cross to bear and ours is starting games," he said after practice Thursday afternoon. "Whether weve got to change the lineup to start the game or whatever, I dont know we have to see." "Thats been our problem and it just didnt start [in Sacramento Wednesday], its been going on for a while. Weve been able to dig out of it but you cant get hit like that and expect to bounce back that way every game, it just takes too much of a toll on your body." In many ways the Raptors have been defeating themselves. Over that three-game stretch they held opponents to 43 per cent shooting in the first quarter, an impressive mark, but the hustle stats tell a different story. Toronto was out-rebounded in the opening 12 minutes of each game and put both Portland and Sacramento on the line 12 times. "We addressed it, we talked about it," Casey said, citing his teams focus, toughness and attention to detail. If Casey does opt to shake up his starting lineup in Los Angles, even temporarily, the most likely casualty would be slumping California-native Amir Johnson. Johnson has been hampered by a sore right ankle after turning it late in last weeks win over Orlando. He has logged fewer than 20 minutes in just six games this season, yet three of those have come in the last four contests. The forward has been Torontos most reliable and valuable player over the last three years but its clear he hasnt been himself, even before his most recent injury. Victor Ibarbo Borre Jersey. After averaging 13.8 points and 8.3 rebounds on 63 per cent shooting in December, Johnsons production dropped last month, scoring 9.5 points and grabbing 6.0 rebounds a night. His 47 per cent field goal shooting in January was his lowest in a full month since March of 2011. As a team the Raptors surrendered 11 points more than they scored with Johnson on the floor in the month. Johnson, who routinely tops the team in the plus/minus stat, was the only Raptor (minimum 50 minutes) that was a net-minus in January, per NBA.com/stats. Mired in a similar slump, and with the team struggling late in November, Johnson was pulled from the starting lineup in favour of Tyler Hansbrough (Johnson told the Toronto Sun that he had requested a move to the bench). Johnson would go on to play his best basketball of the season over the following nine games, averaging 18.0 points and 9.6 rebounds on 68 per cent shooting, and getting his starting job back after three games when Hansbrough went down with an ankle injury. Poised to make a run at the playoffs, the Raptors need Johnson, a nine-year veteran, healthy and focused late in the season. Another temporary demotion could be in the best interest of both the Raptors and their best defensive player. Although Hansbrough could be a candidate to replace him should a change be made, without disrupting the chemistry of the second unit, he has fallen out of Caseys regular rotation since returning from injury. Patrick Patterson would seem to be the most logical choice. Often the first player of Torontos bench, Patterson has been consistently effective since coming over in the trade from Sacramento in December. The forward has scored in double figures in 12 of his last 20 games, averaging 11.1 points and 5.5 rebounds, shooting 52 per cent from the field and connecting on 17 of his 35 attempts from three-point range over that stretch. The Raptors have outscored opponents by 132 points when hes been on the floor during that span. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Cowboys took him ninth overall in 2011

OXNARD, Calif. Jamie McGinn Jersey . -- Tyron Smith has a new contract that will probably make him the most important blocker for the next Dallas quarterback after Tony Romo. The Pro Bowl left tackle signed an eight-year, $98 million extension Wednesday that pushes the total value of his deal to $110 million over 10 years, locking him up through 2023. The extension includes a $10 million signing bonus and $40 million in guaranteed money. Smith joins Romo as the only Cowboys with contracts valued at more than $100 million. Smith was just 20 when the Cowboys took him ninth overall in 2011 out of Southern California. That was Jason Garretts first draft as coach. "That first one says a lot about what you believe," Garrett said. "Hes something else. We really emphasize the importance of mental toughness. We believe thats a distinguishing trait in players and in teams. And he represents that in spades. Hes off the charts." In a statement through his marketing agency, Smith said the Cowboys approached him with what is a cap-friendly deal for the franchise, and the lineman asked his agents to weigh the pros and cons of signing it. Smith said part of his reasoning was rewarding owner Jerry Jones for standing by him during a difficult time that included Smiths lawyer accusing the players parents of taking money from him after he had set up a way to give them a portion of his rookie contract. "Theyve looked out for me and I just wanted to look out for them," Smith told reporters after Wednesdays late practice. "The deal they offered me, didnt really need much and its something I was really comfortable before I took it." Executive vice-president Stephen Jones said the Cowboys wanted to make Smith the highest-paid left tackle in the NFL, which he said was accomplished through a $12.2 million average for the eight-year extension. "Tyron deserves it," Jones said. "Hes 23 years old, and it may be the first 10-year deal Ive ever done in football where I think the guy will be playing in the last year of his contract." Smith has started all 47 games in his career, missing one game with a sprained ankle in 2012. He played right tackle as a rookie before moving to the left side, and this year hell be protecting Romos blind side with the 34-year-old coming off back surgery. "Hes just been everything we wanted to build this program and this team around," Garrett said. "He was a really young player we put in really in minute one of day one. Hes everything we thought he was going to be, physically and intangibly and just as a person. His work ethic is fantastic." Smith became the first-round model in three of four drafts for the Cowboys -- proven players from major college programs. They took centre Travis Frederick from Wisconsin late in the first round last year after trading down and grabbed right guard Zack Martin out of Notre Dame in the middle of the first round this year. "On draft day, youre optimistic about the players you take, particularly that high in the draft, but when you see them develop as quickly as he has into the kind of leader and the player you want, not only for your team but your program, its really satisfying," Garrett said. "Hes a cornerstone player in this franchise." As with Smith, Frederick and Martin have been plugged in as starters from the start of their first off-season. They were born within four months of each other and will each be 23 when the season starts. "You see those relationships developing before your eyes," Garrett said. "Its a special bond, particularly when you play a position like offensive line where the communication is verbal but also has to be almost by feel." Jakob Chychrun Jersey .3 million qualifying offer to outfielder Michael Cuddyer on Monday. Louis Domingue Jersey . -- Omar Infante walked past the visiting clubhouse at Kauffman Stadium, where he dressed so many times as a member of the Detroit Tigers, and slipped on a crisp, new Kansas City Royals jersey.HOUSTON -- Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon peered at the box score through his thick, black-framed eyeglasses after Friday nights game against the Houston Astros and kept repeating one word. "Wow," Maddon said three times as he read off his pitchers strikeout totals. "I didnt realize we had that many." Alex Cobb had 11 of the Rays season high-tying 16 strikeouts, helping Tampa Bay to its first road win in almost a month, 6-1 over the Astros. Ben Zobrist, Matt Joyce and Evan Longoria drove in two runs apiece to break a 10-game road skid dating to May 16. Its just the third win in the last 17 games overall for the Rays, who have the worst record in the majors at 26-42. "This was more like were supposed to play, like we can play," Maddon said. "Got the hits, a couple hits when we needed it." The six runs they scored on Friday night matched the total number of runs theyd managed in their previous six games combined. Cobb (2-4) rebounded from his worst start of the year to allow three hits and one run with a season best in strikeouts in 6 1-3 innings. He gave up 10 hits and seven runs in a season-low 4 1-3 innings in his last outing. "You go borderline crazy after bad starts," Cobb said. "You start running your mechanics through your mind thousands of times and it keeps you up at night sometimes. It feels good to come out and see that your adjustments paid off." Joyce put the Rays up with his two-run double in the second and Zobrist, who finished with three hits, extended the lead to 4-1 with a triple that drove in two in the fifth inning. Longoria padded the lead with his bases-loaded two RBI single in the ninth. Houston rookie Jon Singleton continued his hot start, hitting his fourth homer in his 11th career game. He also homered on Thursday night. But the rest of the Astros couldnt get anything going as the team managed just three other hits and set a season high for strikeouts. Houston manager Bo Porter believes that some of his teams struggles on Friday night could be attributed to second baseman Jose Altuve sitting out. Altuve missed the game after being hit in the hand by a pitch on Thursday night and is day to day. Max Domi Jersey. "Any time you dont have Jose in your lineup, its going to hurt you from the standpoint of hes arguably our best player and leads Major League Baseball in hits for a reason," Porter said. "His presence will be missed any time hes not in the lineup." Collin McHugh (4-4) allowed five hits and four runs in five innings for the loss. James Loney reached on an error by shortstop Jonathan Villar to start the second inning before a double by Zobrist. Joyces double made it 2-0. Houstons Chris Carter singled with two outs in the second inning for his first hit that wasnt a homer since June 3. He had hit five straight homers in that span. Robbie Grossman walked after that but Cobb struck out Marwin Gonzalez to end the threat. Singleton sent Cobbs first pitch of the fourth inning opposite field into the Crawford Boxes in left field to cut the lead to 2-1. Cobb walked Matt Dominguez with one out in that inning before he got rolling, retiring the next eight, including striking out the side in the sixth inning. He also struck out the first three batters of the game. The Astros didnt get another hit until Dominguez singled to start the seventh. Carter followed by knocking a ball about 425 feet to straightaway centre field, but Jennings raced up the hill to grab it. Brad Boxberger replaced Cobb and struck out two batters in 2-3 innings and Joel Peralta fanned the side in the eighth. Jennings doubled with no outs in the fifth before Loney drew a two-out walk. Zobrist made it 4-1 with his triple to centre field which snapped an 0 for 26 streak with runners in scoring position. NOTES: Houston recalled RHP Josh Zeid from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned LHP Rudy Owens to the minor league team before the game. ... Tampa Bay RHP Jeremy Hellickson (elbow) made his second rehab start Thursday for Triple-A Durham. He allowed six hits and four runs in 2 1-3 innings. Maddon said he isnt as concerned about the results as he is how hes feeling. He could rejoin the rotation at the end of the month. ... in the Europa League, Gareth Bale scorin

Its been quite the week for Welsh football. Nate Prosser Jersey . A number of magnificent stories emanating from Englands neighbour to the West have been worthy of praise. The South Wales derby arriving on the world stage of the Premier League, Swansea City holding strong in the Europa League, Gareth Bale scoring in Champions League for Real Madrid, West Broms Boaz Myhill with a clean sheet against Crystal Palace, and Chris Coleman seemingly front runner for the managerial position with the Eagles. All aforementioned positive Welsh footballing stories pale in comparison to the continual top performances by two players on opposite ends of their playing careers. The legendary Ryan Giggs and the upstart Aaron Ramsey featured prominently in the Champions League midweek; a testament to the quality of both players. Giggs Manchester United and Ramseys Arsenal face one another this Sunday in what sets up to be a mouth-watering tie and statement match for both sides. Ramsey will play a key role. And based on form and possible squad selection, its hard to rule out some sort of Giggs intervention in the all-important match. Welsh football has an esteemed class of top players having come from the tiny British nation. Ian Rush, John Charles, Mark Hughes and Neville Southall immediately come to mind. And while Bale is the current poster boy, no player comes close to the accomplishments of Ryan Giggs. The most decorated player in Premier League history, Giggs added another notch to his belt Tuesday, playing in his 950th match for Manchester United in a 0-0 draw at Real Sociedad. Giggs was influential in the middle of the park with United holding 55 per cent of possession and were two hit goal posts away from taking all three points. While his central midfield partner, Maraoune Fellaini was a mess and all over the place before being sent off, Giggs was a pillar of strength, bringing stability to the position and team organization. Nothing flashy, but efficient. Giggs 950th match for United puts him in the same illustrious category as all-time greats Paolo Maldini and Pele for extended service to one club. Nearing the age of 40, Giggs has undoubtedly lost a step, but his football instincts and adaptability still make him an important squad player at Old Trafford. The Welshmen has re-invented himself from a pacey left-winger into a savvy, composed central midfielder. Nowadays, Giggs picks his spots when moving forward in attack, preferring to use his superior vision and distribution to influence a match. Giggs resume speaks for itself – 13 Premier League titles, as well as a myriad of other silverware – and stands alone as the only player to play and score in every Premier League season. Now an assistant coach, it must be an awkward transition, not only in his career, but serving as the bridge between the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson to David Moyes. Coaching is a new role for him, and balancing his contributions on the field with staff responsibility speaks to how highly regarded he is at the club, from the top down.  The fact he continues to contribute at a high level speaks to the class of the player. Hes only played nine matches, and must be used conservatively but the games he has played in speak to his importance. Hes played in three of Uniteds four Champions League matches, as well as appearing against Chelsea, Liverpool twice, and Southampton. United has clear weakness in the middle of the park. Fellaini is struggling to settle and Tom Cleverley has failed to convince. Phil Jones has been a fit in the midfield in certain matches. So it falls to Giggs to bring consistency to the position alongside Michael Carrick.  It may not be ideal casting too much responsibility on a 39-year-old nor is it ideal to do the same with 18-year old Adnan Januzaj on the wing but thats where United is at for the time being. Despite their ages, Giggs and Januzaj both seem up for it. Important for both, Manchester United is returning to form. They are undefeated in October and their last eight overall heading into Sundays match with Arsenal. Squad rotation and role definition is all-important to this return to form. Giggs is a big part of that. Arsenal does not have the luxury of a deep squad. Relying on the young legs of a Welshman of their own is a must. Ramsey, 22, has been a revelation these early days. The winning goal in a 1-0 shock away victory at Borussia Dortmund not only puts the Gunners in pole position to advance from a very difficult Group F in the Champions League, but also incredibly brings Ramseys goal tally to 11 in 17 appearances in all competitions this season. Ramsey had 11 goals combined in the last four years in various competitions for Arsenal and Cardiff City. His emergence has tipped him as early front-runner for Player of the Year. Its strange to think the player is only 22, having originally featured with Arsenal in 2008/09. Ramsey has always been highly rated, but the early returns failed to live up to his lofty billing. The impatient nature of modern football had some questioning whether hed ever meet the standard of a top, regular Premier League footballer. There was legitimate reason to question. The player often looked timid, lost in his own skin, prone to mistake with little stature.   The previous description has been the furthest from the truth in recent months. Its all seemed to come naturally for Ramsey this campaign. The cool finishing in front of goal stands out. Ramseys finish against Liverpool on the weekend was a testament to patience and confidence on the ball. Liverpool foolishly gave Ramsey too much time and space outside the 18-yard box. With awareness, Ramsey let the ball bounce three times, not rushing his effort, before delivering a top corner blast for his sixth tally in Premier League play; a class goal by every sense of the description. In previous years in a similar situation, the player would have rushed the effort or become over-anxious at the opportunity. His newfound calmness is striking, not only in goal scoring opportunities but also in possession of the ball. Taking players on, back heels, and cheeky interventions have become commonplace. Its no coincidence this growth has shown itself with other top creative players around him. The influence of Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil is a positive one and cannot be discredited. Playing in a midfield of much lesser quality at Arsenal in previous years, where the line between brilliance and error was paper-thin, the context put too much of an onus on a player ill-prepared to take upon such a role. The midfield is now a strength at Arsenal; Ramsey is a prominent piece but not alone. Bale may have moved on to Spain but the Premier League remains in good Welsh hands. The savvy, record setting custodian and the lively, full of confidence young gun are making sure the Welsh Dragon is not forgotten in a sea of Belgian quality in the Premier League. @WheelerTSNgareth.wheeler@bellmedia.ca Shayne Corson Jersey . - Their offence is underperforming. Vladimir Sobotka Jersey . With an 8-0-1 record in March

The red-hot St. Barry Bonds Jersey . Louis Blues will try to remain undefeated against the defending Stanley Cup champions this season when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks for Wednesdays Central Division showdown at United Center. Catch the game on TSN2 starting at 8pm et/5pm pt. With an 8-0-1 record in March, the Blues have vaulted to the top of the NHL standings. A recent victory over the Winnipeg Jets made St. Louis the first team to reach the 100-point mark this season. St. Louis currently sits first in the league with 101 points -- two more than the Boston Bruins. The Blues also are four points ahead of both Anaheim and San Jose in the West standings and hold an eight-point lead over both Chicago and Colorado for first place in the Central. The Blackhawks are currently third in the Central and nine points behind St. Louis. Chicago has a chance to make up some ground in the division race tonight, but St. Louis has gotten the better of the reigning champs so far in 2013-14. The Blues also have earned points in 22 consecutive divisional games (20-0-2), extending a franchise record. The Blues are 3-0 against Chicago this season and have claimed four straight overall in the series. However, each of the last three encounters between the clubs have been decided by just one goal. That includes a 6-5 shootout victory by the Blues in the last meeting on Dec. 28 in St. Louis. Chicago failed to hold a pair of two-goal leads in that meeting in late December and the Blues forced the game beyond regulation by scoring twice during a 1:17 span late in the third period. Still, these clubs have split the last 10 meetings overall and St. Louis has lost 10 of 13 in Chicago despite winning the last two matchups in the Windy City. The Blues won their third straight game Monday night against visiting Winnipeg. David Backes scored twice, including the game-winner with 6:51 left in the third period, as St. Louis secured a 3-1 win over the Jets at Scottrade Center. Backes broke a 1-1 tie with a power-play goal at 13:09 of the third before being credited with an empty-netter at 18:49. Winnipegs Jacob Trouba hauled Backes down from behind with only an empty net in front of him, resulting in a goal. Brenden Morrow scored St. Louis other goal, while Ryan Miller made 16 saves to improve to 7-0-1 since being acquired on Feb. 28 by the Blues. Miller will get another chance to improve on his brilliant start with the Blues tonight. The former Buffalo Sabres netminder is 2-2-0 with a 2.08 goals against average in four career games against Chicago. St. Louis is kicking off a four-game road trip on Wednesday and is 22-9-3 as the visiting team this season. T.J. Oshie will be back for the Blues in the opener of the swing after missing Mondays test to spend time with his wife and the couples newborn daughter. The Blackhawks have lost three of their last four games, but were able to pick up a point in Tuesdays 3-2 overtime loss in Philadelphia. Chicago grabbed an early 2-0 lead by scoring twice in the first 3:51 of the game, but the Blackhawks wouldnt find the net again. After Scott Hartnell scored twice in the first period to even the game, Philadelphia captain Claude Giroux scored the winning goal with just 4.2 seconds left in OT to give the Flyers the victory. With time winding down in the extra session, Giroux flew down the right wing into the zone and from the circle he snapped a laser on net, using Duncan Keith as a screen, and it went in and out of the left corner for the win. Andrew Shaw and Keith had the goals for Chicago. Antti Raanta gave up all three goals on 37 shots. "I think we did a lot of good things tonight. But, definitely really frustrating the way we gave that point up," said Keith. Blackhawks No. 1 netminder Corey Crawford expects to get the start tonight. He is 9-2-3 with a 2.45 GAA in 14 career games against the Blues. Chicago is beginning a four-game homestand on Wednesday and also will host Carolina, Nashville and Dallas during the stay at United Center. The Blackhawks are 21-6-7 as the home club this season. Gerrit Cole Jersey . Or, for that matter, the aged. Jung-ho Kang Jersey . -- Jesse Lussier scored 8:24 into overtime as the Halifax Mooseheads erased a four-goal deficit to beat the host Val-dOr Foreurs 6-5 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action.NATAL, Brazil -- With torrential rain pouring down and two goals already contentiously disallowed, tens of thousands of soggy but boisterous Mexico fans were getting nervous. They had already started chanting for Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, the striker benched in favour of Oribe Peralta, to come on and deliver a game winner. Seconds after the chant began, Peralta scored in the 61st minute to help Mexico to a 1-0 victory Friday and the three points it needed to have any chance of advancing from a tough Group A at the World Cup. Peraltas goal gave Mexico its first win over an African team at the World Cup and justified coach Miguel Herreras faith that he could deliver on the biggest stage in the world. A non-factor most of the first half, Peralta broke the deadlock with his left foot after Cameroon goalkeeper Charles Itandje parried Giovanni Dos Santos attempt from the edge of the area. The goal relieved the pressure that had been building steadily after Dos Santos had two goals disallowed in the first half, frustrating the Mexican team that was controlling the game with its speed and ball possession. "We could have scored more, but unfortunately were not used to these conditions," Herrera said. "Frankly, the refereeing took away two clear goals, but at the end of the day youve got to work for it, and we get to the next match with three points and very high spirits." Tournament host and favourite Brazil leads the group after a 3-1 win over Croatia in the opening game. Mexico plays Brazil on Tuesday in Fortaleza. While the heat was expected to be an issue in this balmy coastal city, rain soaked the field at the new Arena das Dunas starting about four hours before the match and never let up, creating a cool day but a slick surface. Mexico players said the field held up well and the conditions favoured their style of play. "We are ready to play in any type of circumstances," Dos Santos said. "We worked the ball well and it was extraordinary to have the rain." The rain never dampened the spirits of the Mexico fans who arrived hours early, dominated the announced crowd of 39,216 aand kept up their cheers and taunts throughout the match. Willie Stargell Jersey. "They made us feel like locals," Herrera said, comparing the atmosphere with Mexicos home stadium. "It felt a little bit like Azteca." Those cheers were sounding nervous as the game remained scoreless deep into the second half. Dos Santos had twice put the ball in the net in the first half only to have both efforts called back. He was ruled offside in the 11th minute and his header from a corner in the 29th was denied when referee Wilmar Roldan apparently called a foul in front of Itandje. His work done, Peralta was taken off in the 74th minute for Hernandez, who nearly doubled Mexicos lead minutes later. But Hernandez misfired a volley and sent it over the net. While a tough shot, the miss punctuated Hernandez scoring drought. Peralta, on the other hand, is growing in confidence and keen to add to the gold medal he picked up with Mexico at the London Olympics. "I want to score as many goals as possible," Peralta said, "to take advantage of every opportunity that I get because I want to be a world champion again." Cameroon seldom tested Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa until forcing him to make a late victory-clinching save with a dive to his left to stop a header by Benjamin Moukandjo. The save was yet another big payoff for Herrera, who started Ochoa after the keeper had been a reserve at the last two World Cups. At the final whistle, Herrera kneeled, crossed himself and pumped his right fist. Cameroon coach Volker Finke stood with his arms crossed, scowling as the rain dripped off his face. For Cameroon, the lacklustre performance will only magnify controversies back home over a player bonus pay dispute that delayed their arrival in Brazil, and will raise more questions about whether theyre a fractured team. The loss also leaves Cameroon needing a victory over group rival Croatia before closing first-round play against Brazil. "We have five days to recover," Finke said. "We will analyze this together because the match against Croatia is very important if we want to stay alive".Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

store and pay for tickets with the digital

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Mychal Rivera Jersey . -- The Sacramento Kings are set to become the first major professional sports franchise to accept Bitcoin virtual currency for ticket and merchandise purchases. The Kings announced Thursday that fans will be able to buy gear from the official team store and pay for tickets with the digital money beginning March 1. Purchases will be processed through BitPay, which accepts the digital dollars and pays the Kings in cash. Bitcoin users buy digital money and load it onto a virtual wallet. Unlike government-issued money, the value of Bitcoin fluctuates rapidly. At one point Thursday, the value of one Bitcoin was worth nearly $850. Kings owner Vivek Ranadive said the new payment method is part of his model for "NBA 3.0, which focuses on investments in technology, globalization and deep community partnerships." Leonard Fournette Jersey . The Kings paraded the Stanley Cup through downtown Los Angeles on Monday to celebrate their second NHL title in three seasons. Brad Nortman Jersey . De La Rosa pitched six strong innings to win his sixth consecutive decision, Todd Helton homered and the Colorado Rockies snapped the Los Angeles Dodgers six-game winning streak with a 7-5 victory on Wednesday night.PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Hitting was supposed to be the Pittsburgh Pirates weakness coming into the season yet they lead the major leagues in home runs through the first 16 games of the season. Andrew McCutchen hit his first homer of the season and drove in three runs, Pedro Alvarez had a three-run shot and pinch-hitter Josh Harrison broke a tie with a long ball in the seventh inning as the Pirates handed the Milwaukee Brewers their first road loss, 11-2 on Thursday night. The Pirates have hit 23 homers despite allowing first baseman Justin Morneau and right fielder Marlon Byrd to leave as free agents last winter. What encouraged manager Clint Hurdle the most was that three of the four homers on Thursday night were of the multi-run variety. "Its good to know you can strike quickly but we need to hit a few more with men on base like we did tonight rather than just solos," Hurdle said. Of course, the Pirates would have more multi-run homers if they could improve upon a .304 on-base percentage. "That has been priority No. 1 since the first day of spring training," Hurdle said. "We need to raise the on-base percentage." Harrisons two-run drive down the left field line off Rob Wooten (0-1) was the second of his career as a pinch hitter. It stared Pittsburghs nine-run outburst over the seventh and eighth innings that was capped by Alvarezs sixth of the year. Hurdle wanted Harrison to bunt Jordy Mercer up to second base after he led off the inning with a single. However, Harrison failed to sacrifice then made it up for it. "Thats why baseball is a crazy game," Harrison said. "One second, I didnt the job done and then the next second I put us ahead with a home run. "I dont hit a lot of home runs but I do know if you hit the ball down the left field line (at PNC Park) that you have a chance," he said. "I knew I hit it hard." McCutchen, last years NL MVP, hit a two-run homer in the first inning in his 57th at-bat. Gaby Sanchez also coonnected while Alvarez, Starling Marte, Russell Martin and Jordy Mercer each had two of the Pirates 12 hits. Brandon Linder Jersey. Edinson Volquez (1-0) gave up two runs in seven innings for his first win with the Pirates, scattering eight hits. "Its a great feeling to get that first W for the Pittsburgh Pirates," Volquez said. "Thats why they brought me here, to win games, so I feel like I did my job this time." Jonathan Lucroy and Scooter Gennett had two hits each for Milwaukee, which had won its first six road games. The Brewers have lost three of four since a nine-game winning streak. Wooten relieved starter Yovani Gallardo to start the seventh. Harrison connected when he was pinch-hitting for Volquez, who signed a one-year, $5-milion contract with the Pirates in December as a free agent. Gallardo allowed two runs and three in six innings with four walks and six strikeouts. However, Wooten allowed three runs while getting only one out and rookie left-hander Wei-Chung Wang was hammered for six runs in 2-3 of an inning as the Brewers bullpens ERA rose from a major league-best 1.33 to 3.16. After Harrisons homer put the Pirates ahead 4-2, McCutchen made it a three-run lead with a fielders choice grounder. "Thats by far the most disappointed Ive been in myself in professional baseball at any level," Wooten said. "I dont have the words to describe it. Its embarrassing." NOTES: Brewers 1B Lyle Overbay was placed on the paternity list after his wife gave birth to a boy on Thursday morning in Milwaukee and INF-OF Elian Herrera was recalled from Triple-A Nashville. ... Pirates OF Jose Tabata, who had a pinch-hit RIB double in the eighth, passed all concussion protocols Thursday morning, a day after leaving a game in Cincinnati in the fourth inning when he ran into the scoreboard while making a catch. .. repeat that success with rookie

LOS ANGELES - The Anaheim Ducks were able to slow down the red-hot Los Angeles Kings to pick up a win in Game 3 of the Western Conference second round. Joe Mauer Jersey . They hope to repeat that success with rookie John Gibson in goal and even the best-of-seven series at two games apiece when the clubs battle tonight in Game 4 at Los Angeles. You can see all the action on TSN beginning at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt. The Ducks said before the game that the 20-year-old Gibson would start ahead of Jonas Hiller. A second-round draft pick in 2011, he made his NHL debut late in the 2013-14 regular season and was 3-0 with a 1.33 goals against average in three outings for the Ducks. The Kings had won six in a row before dropping Thursdays home tilt at the Staples Center. Ben Lovejoys late third-period goal proved to be the difference as Anaheim beat the Kings 3-2 Thursday night in the City of Angels. It was the first loss for L.A. since it dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the visiting San Jose Sharks on April 22. That setback put the Kings down 3-0 in their opening-round series with the Sharks, but L.A. rallied to post four straight wins to become only the fourth team in NHL history to win a best-of- seven series after losing the first three meetings. The Ducks lost the opening two games of the conference semis on home ice before breaking through with Thursdays road victory. In addition to Lovejoys goal, which made it 3-1 with 2:55 left in the third period, Corey Perry and Teemu Selanne also scored power-play goals for Anaheim. The Ducks won the tilt despite an injury to goaltender Frederik Andersen, who left the game midway through the third period with a lower-body injury and did not return. Hiller made seven saves in the final 9:58 to complete the win for Anaheim. "He was playing well and hes a guy that you can tell if hes playing well early, the glove hand seems a lot sharper and hes a lot more concerned and hes good with it. So I thought he played good," Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau said about Andersen, who stopped 22 shots. Andersen, a rookie, started all six games in the Ducks first-round win over the Dallas Stars before Hiller started the first two games against the Kings in Anaheim. Hiller expects to get the call tonight, but Anaheim has not ruled out Andersen for the Game 4 clash. Unfortunately for Anaheim, Andersen wasnt the only Ducks player hurt in Game 3, as forwards Matt Beleskey and Mathieu Perreault also suffered lower-body injuries in the win. If Beleskey and Perreault are forced to miss Game 4, Boudreau will likely choose their replacements from a group consisting of Emerson Etem, Tim Jackman, Rickard Rakell or Daniel Winnik. Jeff Carter and Mike Richards scored for Los Angeles on Thursday, while Jonathan Quick stopped 19 shots in defeat. Richards scored with 30.8 seconds left in regulation, but the Kings were unable to get another shot past Hiller to tie the game. "The Ducks played harder than us tonight, they executed better," Richards said. "They were a desperate team and they showed up. We know what its like to be in that position, and if the other team is more desperate than we are, they are probably going to have more success." After Thursdays meeting, the Kings fell to 2-2 as the home team this postseason while Anaheim improved to 2-2 on the road. The home team is 0-3 so far in this "Freeway Series," the first-ever playoff encounter between these Southern California rivals. "So far that hasnt meant anything, I hope it continues for at least one more game," Boudreau said of home ice. Kings forward Anze Kopitar picked up an assist on Carters goal and now has points in all 10 games this postseason, totaling four goals and 11 assists. The last King to have points in 10 straight games in one postseason was Wayne Gretzky, who had a franchise-record 12-game point streak in 1993. If the Kings can rebound with a win on Saturday, they will have a chance to close the series Monday in Anaheim. L.A., which won its first Stanley Cup title in 2012, is attempting to make the conference finals for a third straight spring. Matt Belisle Jersey . Simona Halep of Romania claimed the fifth title of her career by beating Samantha Stosur of Australia 7-6 (1), 6-2 in the womens final. After trading sets, Gasquet trailed 4-3 in the decider but broke back to 4-4 in a game that went to seven deuces with Kukushkin constantly failing on his forehand shots. Justin Morneau Jersey .com) - The fading Ottawa Senators have a chance to make up some ground in the playoff race on Tuesday night as they play host to the New York Rangers.KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Texans running back Arian Foster was ruled out of Sundays game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a hamstring injury that he sustained in the first quarter. His backup, Ben Tate, left early in the second half when he took a hard blow to his shoulder and ribs, and Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Cushing left later in the third quarter with what appeared to be a left knee injury. Foster, who was listed as probable on Fridays injury report with thumb, chest and hamstring injuries, went to the locker room after carrying four times for 11 yards on the Texans opening drive. Bartolo Colon Jersey. He had an AFC-leading 531 yards rushing coming into the game. The Texans were already without quarterback Matt Schaub, who was inactive for the game because of right ankle and foot injuries. Case Keenum started in his place. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys AuthenticWholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

nning streak. With only three matches to

ROME - Refusing to concede the Serie A title, Roma produced a convincing 2-0 win over AC Milan on Friday that will keep Juventus from celebrating for at least another week. Adam Larsson Jersey . Miralem Pjanic dribbled through the defence to score an extraordinary goal in the 43rd minute at the Stadio Olimpico and Gervinho added another from a rebound in the 65th for Romas ninth straight victory — ending Milans five-match winning streak. With only three matches to play, Roma moved within five points of Juventus, which visits relegation-threatened Sassuolo on Monday. While Juventus can clinch the title if it beats Sassuolo and Atalanta a week later no matter what Roma does, the Giallorossi are hoping the title race stays open until they host the leader in the penultimate round. If Roma had not beaten Milan, Juve could have clinched Monday. "We wont give up until the end but it doesnt depend on us," said Roma forward Adem Ljajic, who came close to scoring in the first half. "Were going to fight until the end and see what happens." With a win at Catania next weekend, Roma can match its 10-game winning streak to open the season. Milan, still trying to secure a spot in Europe, remained tied with Parma in sixth place. After a slow start, Roma took control by dominating possession and Pjanic dribbled by three defenders before slotting the ball past Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, who could only get a weak hand on the ball. "A goal like that you see once in a lifetime," Ljajic said. Pjanic nearly scored again in the 53rd but Abbiati blocked his effort, which was set up by a free kick scheme from Totti. Gervinho then doubled the lead by pounding in a rebound of a hard shot from Totti for his ninth goal of a season that has seen the Ivory Coast forward revive his career after a difficult spell with Arsenal. Milan forward Mario Balotelli wasted a couple chances in the first half and was largely ineffective, leading to his substitution by Giampaolo Pazzini in the 69th.Ryan Stanton Jersey . The Vancouver coach and an announced sellout crowd of 18,910 watched in dismay as the Canucks lost 7-4 to the New York Islanders on Monday night by squandering a 3-0 lead in the third period. Cam Talbot Jersey . Directly ahead was open field, the end zone and the Seattle Seahawks place in the NFC championship game.VANCOUVER - NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says advertisements could be included on jerseys at the World Cup of Hockey. The league has so far resisted putting ads on the sweaters of its 30 teams, but Bettman said Friday that corporate logos on jerseys are possible for the tournament in 2016.World Cup, international competition, I dont know, Bettman said at a press conference at Rogers Arena. It might be a valuable opportunity.None of North Americas four major professional sports leagues currently have ads on jerseys, but the practice is widespread elsewhere in the world.Bettman said that wont be happening any time soon in the NHL.Im in no rush to put advertising on our sweaters, he said. I like the way they look and Ive repeatedly said we wouldnt be the first (in North America) and youd probably have to bring me kicking and screaming. The World Cup of Hockey will be held in Toronto prior to the 2016-17 NHL season and is expected to generate more than US$100 million in profits. The World Cup jerseys dont have the same legacy as far as Im concerned that our regular jerseys have, added Bettman, who was in Vancouver to watch the Canucks host the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night. So (advertising on jerseys) could happen in the World Cup ... might not, but its not anything were focused on doing for the league itself.Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

WASHINGTON - Star outfielder Bryce Harper was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Washington Nationals on Sunday with a sprained left thumb. Juanfran Jersey . The move is retroactive to Saturday. Harper hurt his hand with a head-first slide into third base Friday night after hitting a third-inning, bases-loaded triple in Washingtons 11-1 victory. He stayed in the game for an inning before he was replaced. "Its part of baseball. You slide into the bag and sometimes you get your fingers," Harper said. "Its a bummer, but hopefully Ill be back soon." Harper will fly to Cleveland on Monday to see prominent hand specialist Thomas Graham for a second opinion. For now, his proscribed treatment is ice. "Hopefully 15 days go by and I can get back out there," Harper said. "Well see how I feel in 15." Harper joins starting catcher Wilson Ramos and starting third baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the disabled list, both with hand injuries. Ramos, hurt on opening day, had surgery on his left hand. Zimmerman broke his right thumb also sliding into a bag, on April 12. Also on the DL are starting pitcher Doug Fister (back), who is scheduled for a rehab start on Sunday, and reserve outfielder Scott Hairston (side). "Weve got a lot of off days in the next 15, so thats huge," Harper said. Harper went 2 for 2 and had a career-high four RBIs on Friday night, giving him nine for the season as he lifted his batting average to .289. He has only one home run in 83 at-bats. "Its frustrating," Harper said. "I want to be out there and be able to help my team win every single day." Steven Souza Jr. was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to replace him on the roster but was not in the lineup Sunday. Miguel Angel Moya Jersey . Consider it received. Attacking on offence early and often, the Penguins topped the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1 on Saturday night as Jussi Jokinen scored the go-ahead goal in the third period to help give Pittsburgh a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference playoff series. Yannick Carrasco Jersey . They started shooting the puck. Joe Pavelski had a hat trick to move into a tie for second in the NHL in goals and the Sharks beat Philadelphia 7-3 Thursday night in the first game for both teams following the Olympic break.ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Stephan Leblanc had three goals and an assist as the Toronto Rock ended their regular season by defeating the host Minnesota Swarm 8-6 on Saturday in National Lacrosse League action. The win, combined with a Buffalo Bandits 16-14 loss to the Rochester Knighthawks, gives Toronto home-floor advantage in its first-round, single-elimination, East Division semifinal playoff game against Buffalo next weekend. Rob Hellyer and Josh Sanderson each had a goall and three assists for the Rock (9-9), who led 7-2 after three quarters before giving up four goals in the final 15 minutes, while Nick Diachenko, Kasey Beirnes and Ethan OConnor added a goal apiece. Luciano Vietto Jersey. Shayne Jackson and Logan Schuss each had a pair of goals for the Swarm (4-14) and Tyler Hass and Kiel Matisz had the others. Torontos Brandon Miller made 47 saves for the win while Minnesotas Zach Higgins turned away 52-of-60 shots in defeat. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

the New York Yankees paid to sign him

NEW YORK -- Masahiro Tanaka throws a splitter that drops out of sight, ranks among the major league leaders in many prized pitching categories and appears, so far, to be worth every penny the New York Yankees paid to sign him. Custom Seattle Mariners Jerseys . His place in those pinstripes? Tanaka seems to have a different take than most everyone else. "No, I dont feel that Im the ace," he said Saturday through a translator. Tanaka shut down Joe Mauer and the other Minnesota hitters while lowering his AL-best ERA to 2.06, and Brian McCann lined a go-ahead double in the eighth inning Saturday that sent the New York Yankees over the Twins 3-1. Tanaka (8-1) permitted only an unearned run in eight innings. The heralded rookie from Japan gave up four singles, just two leaving the infield. Tanaka struck out nine, giving him 88 in 78 2-3 innings. The 25-year-old righty is fanning more batters in the big leagues than he did back home before getting a $155 million, seven-year contract from the Yankees. "Its probably the guys here havent seen me," he said. Tanaka walked two and bounced two wild pitches. But he was especially sharp against Mauer, the three-time AL batting champion. Mauer, who faced Tanaka in spring training, struck out on three pitches in the first inning with a runner on third. Mauer fanned on four pitches with runners on second and third in the third, then tapped into a double play and later grounded out. "Guys said the ball was just disappearing," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "His splitter is unbelievable, hes got all the pitches." "And we also saw that hes very competitive. A few times you could see him yelling at himself, hes very competitive," he said. Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira left in the sixth because of soreness in his surgically repaired right wrist, the same problem that forced him to miss three games this week. Manager Joe Girardi said Teixeira was expected to miss two more games. "Our feeling, right now, is that its going to be short term," Girardi said. It was 1-all when Jacoby Ellsbury singled with one out in the Yankees eighth off Brian Duensing (1-2). Ellsbury stole second, and continued to third when catcher Josmil Pintos throw from his knees went into centre field for an error. In light showers, Brian Roberts walked and McCann hit an RBI double over leaping first baseman Chris Parmelee into the right-field corner. Following a 34-minute rain delay, Kelly Johnson drove in a run with an infield single. David Robertson pitched the ninth for his 12th save. Minnesota has lost seven of nine. Yangervis Solarte homered for the Yankees first run. Tanaka and Twins starter Kevin Correia both escaped early trouble, and nobody pitched a perfect 1-2-3 inning until the seventh. Brian Dozier grounded the first pitch of the game off Johnsons glove at third base for an error, moved up on a wild pitch and scored on Josh Willinghams two-out single. Correia got out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the first when he struck out Teixeira and got McCann to bounce into a double play. Solarte homered in the fourth, giving the rookie infielder a team-leading 26 RBIs. Solarte singled with two outs and the slow-footed McCann on second in the sixth. McCann was held at third as strong-armed right fielder Oswaldo Arcia fielded the ball and threw home, and Solarte was thrown out trying to take second. Arcia had two assists in Friday nights 6-1 win. NOTES: Twins rookie CF Danny Santana was out of the lineup, a day after he needed seven stitches to close a cut on his left eyelid. He was hurt when his batting helmet flew off during a headfirst slide and bounced up to hit him in the face. "We have to be guarded here," Gardenhire said. ... Gardenhire won a replay challenge in the third, and Eduardo Escobar wound up with an infield hit. ... Former Yankees All-Star Phil Hughes (5-1, 3.23) faces his former team Sunday. Rookie Chase Whitley (0-0, 2.57) starts for New York. ... Derek Stepan, Ryan McDonagh and Derick Brassard of the New York Rangers were in the crowd, and got big cheers when shown on the videoboard. The Rangers are in the Stanley Cup final. ... The Twins were trying for their fourth straight win at Yankee Stadium, having won their final two games at the park last year and again Friday. The last time Minnesota won four in a row in the Bronx was 1968. Felix Hernandez Jersey . -- Golden State Warriors reserve centre Ognjen Kuzmic is expected to miss at least six weeks after undergoing surgery on his fractured right hand. Ken Griffey Jersey . PAUL, Minn. After reports surfaced in Costa Rica, defender Kendall Waston has confirmed via his own Twitter account that he is joining the Vancouver Whitecaps. The 26-year-old played his last game for his club, Saprissa, over the weekend and his move to Vancouuver is set to be confirmed soon. Nelson Cruz Jersey. The Whitecaps have been wanting to add a central defender following the retirement of club captain Jay DeMerit. dditional backcourt depth to our roster, we believe

CHARLOTTE, N. Fozzy Whittaker Jersey .C. -- The Charlotte Bobcats have waived seldom-used guard Ben Gordon. Charlottes roster now stands at 14 players. Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins said Sunday in a statement that "with the recent acquisition of additional backcourt depth to our roster, we believe this is in the best interests of both parties." Charlotte got Gordon from the Detroit Pistons with a future first-round draft pick in June of 2012 for Corey Maggette. The Bobcats will get Detroits pick this year if it is outside the top eight. Gordon was making $13.2 million this season. Gordon never saw significant playing time in Charlotte. He played in only 19 games this season, averaging 5.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 14.7 minutes. Wes Horton Jersey . Re-signed by the club to a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract on July 5, Bass appeared in three preseason games with Columbus prior to breaking a bone in his hand on Sept. Ed Dickson Jersey . -- DeMarcus Cousins had 25 points and 16 rebounds to help the Sacramento Kings snap a seven-game losing streak by defeating the Chicago Bulls 99-70 on Monday night.OAKLAND, Calif. - In a game where offence was an afterthought, the scoreless stalemate ended in fitting fashion: a walk-off error. Melky Cabrera couldnt corral Nick Puntos double with one out in the 12th inning, sending the Oakland Athletics to a 1-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday in front of an announced crowd of 22,322 at the Coliseum. "Im sure they were ready to go home and get the barbecues started," Punto said. Derek Norris led off the rally with a walk by Chad Jenkins (0-1), who tossed two innings of relief. After Jed Lowrie lined out, Punto poked a slicing double down the line in left. Cabrera moved to his right to cut off the ball, which squirted by his glove for an error. Norris, who runs well for a catcher, hustled from first for an odd ending to a game highlighted by stellar pitching performances by Oaklands Tommy Milone, Torontos Marcus Stroman and both bullpens. "Thats the definition of a pitching duel," Milone said. "Its exciting. Its fun to watch. But it was about that time." Dan Otero (7-1), the fifth Oakland reliever to toss a scoreless inning, earned the win. Cabrera never surfaced in the clubhouse during the time reporters were allowed in after the game. "Thats not the game," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said of Cabreras misplay. "It was great pitching on both sides." Stroman gave up seven hits in seven innings. He struck out seven and walked three. Milone allowed four hits in six innings, striking out six and walking one intentionally. The left-hander is 6-0 in his last 11 starts and hasnt lost since May 3 at Boston. The pitchers quickly erased the few chances both offences had. Jose Reyes singled on the games first pitch, but Milone didnt allow another hit until Steve Tolleson doubled on a pop fly leading off the fifth that landed between three players battling the bright sky, which caused problems all day. Tolleson advanced to third on the second of two groundouts before Milone struck out Reyes. Lowries fiielding error at shortstop extended the sixth for Toronto. Derek Anderson Jersey. But Milone rebounded the way he had all afternoon, striking out Brad Glenn to strand two. "It the same thing hes been doing all season. He changes speed and locates so well," said Blue Jays centre fielder Darin Mastroianni, who singled with one out in the 12th for his only hit. Stroman kept the As off-balance and out of sync in similar fashion. He got some help from his defence, too, including Cabrera. With two on and two outs in the third, Cabrera made a diving catch on Yoenis Cespedes liner to left. Cabrera grabbed his midsection and jogged gingerly backed to the dugout afterward. Josh Donaldson started a double play by fielding Edwin Encarnacions grounder at third and threw from his backside to Punto, whose relay from second to first ended Torontos eighth. Toronto caught its own defensive break when Brandon Moss sprained his left ankle coming out of the box, and the Blue Jays easily turned a double play to end the bottom of the inning. Moss said the ankle is sore but hopes to play Saturday, though As manager Bob Melvin said Moss will likely get a day off. Oaklands Ryan Cook, Fernando Abad, Sean Doolittle, Eric OFlaherty and Luke Gregerson all pitched a scoreless inning. Jenkins, Brett Cecil, Dustin McGowan and Aaron Loup combined to throw four scoreless innings before the As broke through in the 12th. "The pitching today was fantastic across the board," Melvin said. "They came in, did their job for the inning and passed the baton to the next guy." NOTES: Blue Jays hitting coach Kevin Seitzer was ejected by home plate umpire Vic Carapazza in the sixth inning for apparently arguing balls and strikes from the dugout. ... Melvin said an MRI revealed that 1B Kyle Blanks has a slight tear in his left calf and is not expected back anytime soon. ... Scott Kazmir (9-3, 2.61 ERA) starts for Oakland opposite Torontos Mark Buehrle (10-5, 2.50 ERA) on Saturday. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

t so much in others. Billie Jean King and Martina Na

BERLIN -- Encouraged by others who have come out as gay, retired footballer Thomas Hitzlsperger is hoping going public will help make it easier for other sporting stars to do the same. Mark Melancon Jersey . Homosexuality is seen as a major taboo in some sports, while not so much in others. Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova, both openly gay, are two of the greatest tennis players in history. But big-time professional football, and the four major sports in the United States, are quite a different story -- at least for now. "(There is) a long way to go because we fear a reaction and we dont know what will happen. I cant imagine playing football and doing this at the same time," Hitzlsperger said in an interview with BBC Radio 4 on Thursday. Hitzlsperger, no longer active but still regarded as the biggest name in football to say he is gay, spent years playing professionally in England, Germany and Italy. He also represented Germany at the 2006 World Cup. His decision to go public was hailed overwhelmingly as a positive step in the German media as well as in England, reflecting the way attitudes have changed. British tabloid The Sun labeled him a "Winner" in a side-by-side cover photo with Manchester United defender Chris Smalling, who was called the "Loser" for wearing an outfit resembling a suicide bomber for a costume party. In Germany, Hitzlsperger has been commended for his courage. The countrys mass circulation daily Bild led with "Respect!" on its front page, a day after Hitzlsperger made his announcement in an interview with German newspaper Die Zeit. "Hopefully, by talking about it, it encourages some others, because they see they can still be professional football players, they can play at the highest level, and be gay," Hitzlsperger said in a video on his website. "Its not a contradiction, as Ive proved." Using anti-gay slurs and jokes on the sports field has been widely accepted as part of playing hard for years, so much so that in 1999 former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler made lewd anti-gay gestures during a game toward Graeme Le Saux, who was playing for Chelsea. Le Saux, who is straight, was labeled a homosexual by many simply because he used to read the left-leaning Guardian newspaper. On Thursday, in the wake of Hitzlspergers announcement, Fowler took to Twitter to express regret and apologize for his actions of nearly 15 years ago. "Getting a bit of stick for something that happened when I was a kid, naive and immature..Ive apologised to (at)graemelesaux14, he accepted," wrote Fowler, who has retired from football and become a television commentator. "Obviously embarrassed looking back, but sadly cannot change what happened, you learn from mistakes growing up, and that I have." Jason Collins, a former NBA player, came out last year and was regarded as the first active openly gay player in one of the big American sports. Like Hitzlsperger, Collins announcement was met mainly with praise, rather than abuse. Arjen Robben, the Dutchman who was a key player in leading the Netherlands to the World Cup final in 2010, downplayed stereotypes that athletes are scared to come out because they fear reprisals from teammates in the locker room. "Hes gay, and?" Robben said at a Bayern Munich practice session in Doha, Qatar. "I think its quite normal and natural. I can also say here, Im heterosexual. I dont see a problem." FIFA, the governing body of football around the world, acknowledged that there is still work to be done within the game itself. "Unfortunately, prejudices still exist within football," FIFA said in a statement. "FIFA is working hard to tackle these and hopes Thomass statements will encourage greater respect and understanding in football and beyond." Last February, American player Robbie Rogers declared he was gay as he announced his retirement. Rogers, now 26, has returned to action with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Former English player Justin Fashanu, who played for Norwich and Nottingham Forest, was the first football player to say openly that he was gay, in 1990. He committed suicide eight years later at age 37. Swedish defender Anton Hysen came out in 2011. "I dont know if football is such a homophobic environment. People just speculate this would be the case," Hitzlsperger told the BBC. "Since we havent seen a gay footballer in the Premier League or the Bundesliga, its hard to say that this would happen. We would have to wait and see." Joe Panik Jersey . The Kings paraded the Stanley Cup through downtown Los Angeles on Monday to celebrate their second NHL title in three seasons. Denard Span Jersey . Toronto FC hosts the three-time Italian league champions in a friendly Aug. 7 at BMO Field, a game that Roma CEO Italo Zanzi said falls within a key part of their pre-season.BOSTON -- Daric Barton didnt bat and barely got on the field. He still made the game-saving play. Yoenis Cespedes drove in the go-ahead run on an infield single with the bases loaded in the 10th and Barton, playing first, cut down the potential tying run at third in the bottom of the inning as the Athletics averted a three-game sweep with a 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. "He made a terrific play," Oakland manager Bob Melvin said. "Thats a gutsy play. Thats a play that if the runner gets over, they can win the game with a hit. A gutsy play." Bostons Will Middlebrooks opened the inning with a single and advanced to second on the hit when centre fielder Coco Crisp had the ball bounce away for an error. With Barton playing in, guarding for a bunt, Jackie Bradley Jr. bounced it to first. Barton fired to third, cutting down Middlebrooks. "My whole goal was obviously to get the guy at third whether it was a bunt or a ground ball to me," Barton said. "It feels good. Ive learned to be ready. Anything can happen at any time, but Ive learned to be ready when they call my name and go out there and do my job." Barton came in when Josh Reddick left with a sprained ankle in the ninth. Jim Johnson (3-2) then got Dustin Pedroia to bounce into a game-ending double play. Middlebrooks was somewhat surprised and impressed by the play. "I was breaking off the bat. I didnt know it was to his right, to his left or right at him. Unfortunately it was right at him," he said. "This is the big leagues. People are supposed to make plays like that. Normally you dont see a first baseman that far in, but he made a good play. Hats off to him." Oakland closed a 10-game road trip 5-5 and avoided its second three-game sweep in its last four series. The Athletics were swept at home by Texas April 21-23. "Barton makes a heck of a heads-up play to cut down Will going to third," Boston manager John Farrell said. "Theyre playing in. Hes got to trust in his abilities. He throws a strike across the diamond to cut down Will." A.J. Pierzynski hit a solo homer for the Red Sox, who failed to reach .500 for the first time since the fourth game of the season. Jed Lowrie had a two-out double off Chris Capuano (1-1) and after the bases were loaded with an intentional and regular walk, Cespedes beat out a slow roller to third against reliever Burke Badenhop. Willie McCovey Jersey. Johnson also got a double-play grounder by Jonny Gomes to end the ninth. With the Red Sox trailing 2-1 in the seventh, Pierzynski homered into Bostons bullpen. It could have been worse for the Athletics when right fielder Reddick had trouble with pinch hitter Gomes fly ball in the wind. He was charged with an error, allowing runners to reach second and third with one out. But reliever Fernando Abad got Bradley Jr. out at first on his attempted safety squeeze and Luke Gregerson retired Pedroia. Boston starter John Lackey gave up two runs on five hits in six innings, walking three and striking out four. Oaklands Sonny Gray also pitched six, giving up two runs and six hits, walking two with three strikeouts. Cespedes gave Oakland a 2-1 edge in the sixth with an RBI double off the Green Monster. The Athletics grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first on Brandon Moss two-out RBI single. Grady Sizemores RBI double tied it in the fifth, but Gray escaped a bases-loaded, one-out jam when Bradley bounced into a 1-2-3 double play. In the third, Boston shortstop Xander Bogaerts relay from shallow left cut down Donaldson trying to score. Crew chief Jeff Kellogg requested a replay review to see if catcher Pierzynski was illegally blocking the plate. Replays showed he moved his foot and blocked the corner just before he caught the throw, knocking Donaldsons foot away as it attempted to reach home. The play was upheld. Melvin challenged a call on the first pitch of the game -- when Crisp was called out on a 5-6-3 grounder. Replays were ruled inconclusive. NOTES: Reddick limped off after grounding into a DP. ... Boston DH David Ortiz played in his 1,999th career game. ... The Athletics open a 10-game homestand Monday when left-hander Scott Kazmir (4-0, 2.11 ERA) faces Seattle right-hander Chris Young (1-0, 3.04). ... The Red Sox are off Monday before beginning a two-game series on Tuesday against Cincinnati when lefty Felix Doubront (1-3, 5.70) goes against the Reds Homer Bailey (2-2, 5.50). ... Sizemore went 2 for 2 before being pinch hit for, raising his career average to .321 (59 of 184) against the As, his best against any AL team. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

in Fridays upset win over Memphis - the tea

NEW ORLEANS - Greivis Vasquez, now an integral member of the Raptors second unit, has celebrated wins over each of his three former teams in the last two weeks but Wednesdays victory over the Pelicans brought an even wider smile to the jovial point guards face. Wales Jerseys . He played a big part in Fridays upset win over Memphis - the team that drafted him - a week after defeating the Kings, the team that traded him Toronto. However, this one meant a little more, though it took him a couple minutes to admit it. "I just want to win," Vasquez said, initially downplaying his return to New Orleans after the Raptors overcame an abysmal start to knock off the undermanned Pelicans 107-100. Sandwiched between his brief time in Memphis and Sacramento, Vasquez spent two seasons playing for the New Orleans franchise, formally known as the Hornets. There he enjoyed his best moments, individually, of his career. "This is a very special place for me because they gave me the key, they labelled me a starting point guard, they gave me a chance to showcase my game," said Vasquez, who finished second in most improved voting with the Hornets last season, averaging a career-highs in points (13.9) and assists (9.0) before he was traded to Sacramento this past summer. "I was really angry when they traded me," he admitted. "I know its part of the business so that makes it a little sour when you come back but you always want to beat your former team." With the game in the balance down the stretch, Vasquez looked and played like a scorned man. The Raptors backup point guard, like the rest of his new team, got off to an unexpectedly slow start against a Pelicans club missing its best player, all-star forward and Vasquezs former running mate Anthony Davis. When Vasquez entered the game late in the first quarter, Toronto was already down by seven. That deficit would balloon to 13 a few minutes later, as the Pelicans had their way with the shorthanded Raptors in the paint, getting what they want, when and however they wanted it. The Raptors spent most of the second half clawing back, unable to get over the final hurdle until Vasquez vaulted them over it. With two minutes remaining on the clock and the score knotted up at 94 - Toronto had led for a total of 51 seconds in the game at that point - the former Hornet put the Raptors on top with one of his patented floaters. After misfiring on a three from the corner - one he thought he had made - moments later, Vasquez followed his shot, grabbed the rebound - Torontos 22nd offensive board of the night, a season-best - and covered the lay-up, also getting fouled on the play. After completing the three-point sequence, the Raptors found themselves up by five in a game they badly needed, having dropped their last two. They would not relinquish that lead. "I was blessed enough to be out there at the end of the game," said Vasquez, who scored nine of his 14 points in the fourth quarter. "Ive been wishing I could get out there at the end of these games and (Coach) gave me an opportunity." "I had a rough first half and then the second half I was on a mission," he continued. "I like close games. Im not afraid. I will never be afraid. I am the type of player who would risk everything. Thats how I got the (starting job) here in New Orleans. They saw me playing in Memphis against San Antonio and OKC in my rookie year and they thought I was a starting guard." The Pelicans missed just three shots in the opening quarter, dropping 32 points on the winded Raptors - playing in the second game of a back-to-back, having lost Tuesday in Atlanta - without Davis, their leading scorer. Shooting over 75 per cent until the latter half of the second quarter, New Orleans torched the visitors on dribble drives in the paint. "I didnt recognize the team in the first quarter," Dwane Casey said. "I told them they were playing like they were in a rec league in the summer time (but) we picked it up." The game began to turn midway through that frame, as the Raptors closed the half on a 23-10 run, hitting nine of their final 10 shots. Despite shooting 36-per-cent in the second half, the Raptors clawed and scraped their way back into the game. DeMar DeRozan carried them offensively, scoring 16 of his game-high 31 points in the second half and the team out-rebounded New Orleans 31-18, including a 14-2 advantage on the offensive boards. Amir Johnson - playing on a sore ankle, again - grabbed eight of his nine rebounds in the second half, Tyler Hansbrough - starting in place of the injured Jonas Valanciunas - pulled down eight of his season-high 13. Simply put, they wanted it more. "This game was about mental toughness, physical toughness more so than skill," said Casey. "No matter who youre playing you have to bring that each and every night and I thought our guys did." Undermanned frontcourt The Raptors were without two of their top three bigs in Valanciunas, who missed his first game of the season with a lower back sprain and Patrick Patterson, still out with an elbow injury. Valanciunas sustained the injury turning to set a screen in the third quarter of Tuesdays loss to the Hawks and was unable to suit up in New Orleans. Although his back is still tight, the Raptors centre underwent treatment before the game and plans to do the same during Thursdays off day, hoping to return on Friday at home to the Thunder. De Colos quiet impact Without attempting a single shot in the first half, only taking one in the game, Nando De Colo helped ignite the Raptors and change the game with his energy, effort and decision making. Logging 14 minutes, the most hes played since he was acquired from San Antonio at the trade deadline, De Colo was credited with sparking his new teams second-quarter run that cut their deficit from 14 to one going into intermission. "Oh man, he was unbelievable," Kyle Lowry said of De Colo, who went scoreless but added two rebounds and three assists. "You cant forget a guy like that. Thats what I always say, were 15 strong. Nando hasnt played that much but tonight he really changed the game, just moving, speed, defence, just his overall effort and knowledge of the game." Nearing a milestone on the road With the victory, the Raptors picked up their 18th road win of the season, most since the 2001-02 campaign and are getting closer to the franchise record of 20 set the year prior. Toronto has seven road games to go and can finish at or above .500 away from home for the first time in team history if they can win at least three of them. Theyll face only one winning team on the road - the Heat - the rest of the way. Wednesdays visit to New Orleans also marked the Raptors final road game against Western Conference opponents, finishing the season 8-7 in those contests. Blank Jersey . Costa Rica followed up its surprise win over Uruguay with another World Cup stunner on Friday, beating four-time champion Italy 1-0 to secure a spot in the next round and eliminate England in the process. Joe Ledley Jersey . The 23-year-old Poland international is back as first choice at Arsenal after losing his regular spot in the team on occasions over the last three seasons.OKLAHOMA CITY -- Thunder guard Derek Fisher has played more playoff games than anyone in history. He says the Western Conference finals between the Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, filled with major strategy shifts and home blowouts, has produced one of the wildest series hes been involved in. San Antonio leads 3-2 and can close out it out Saturday in Oklahoma City. "Theres no script for this," Fisher said. "You can try to set expectations, and everybody can sit around and try and predict whats going to happen and which team is going to come out on top, and its just impossible. Thats what makes sports sports, and why people are so excited about either being there or watching it, because you never know whats going to happen." San Antonios Gregg Popovich and Oklahoma Citys Scott Brooks have one-upped each other with shrewd moves during the series, and the scoreboard has tipped dramatically with each change. Oklahoma City came up with the first major lineup changes in Game 3. Defensive wiz Serge Ibaka returned to Oklahoma Citys starting lineup after suffering what was thought to be a season-ending left calf strain and Reggie Jackson moved into the starting lineup to help the Thunder win Game 3, 107-96, and Game 4, 105-92. In Game 5 in San Antonio, the Spurs decision to go with perimeter-shooting post players alongside Tim Duncan helped the teams floor spacing, and the Spurs rolled to a 117-89 win. Matt Bonner got his first start of the season, and his presence helped Duncan get off to a fast start. Boris Diaw started the second half and scored seven points in the third quarter to help the Spurs take a 20-point lead at the end of the period. Popovichs move forced Ibaka, the leagues leading shot blocker during the regular season, away from the basket, and the Spurs perimeter players had an easier time getting to the hoop. "The adjustments that the coaches made were very efficient tonight," Diaw said after the game. "We tried to space the floor a little more. We camee back to the way we were aggressive in the first two games. Joe Allen Jersey. Going from good to great. Thats what Pop has asked all year, thats what weve been doing all year." When Brooks was asked if he might start Ibaka at centre to prevent the Spurs from pulling him away from the basket, Brooks ruled nothing out. "Anythings possible," he said. "We just have to, whoever we put out there, we just have to play better." Thunder forward Kevin Durant said lineup changes, though important, are secondary to effort. He said Oklahoma City did not play with enough intensity in Game 5. "Schemes and Xs and Os, it all goes out the door," he said. "Weve just got to play harder. They did last game, so weve got to match up." Brooks said the key for Oklahoma City is defence. San Antonio has shot at least 50 per cent from the field in all three of its wins. If the Thunder dont get stops, they cant get into their dangerous fast break attack. "We know their plays, they know our plays, and we just have to be able to execute with maximum effort to give ourselves a chance to get a stop," Brooks said. "Thats what it comes down to." The lineup changes have coincided with venue changes. The home teams have won every game in the series by at least nine points, and by an average of 20.4 per game. Popovich was at a loss to explain why the series has played out this way. "It seems like the home team each time looks to have the greater passion or physicality," he said. "Thats hard to measure because both teams want to win just as bad as the other." Durant said the effort must be there Saturday night or the trend of home blowouts -- and Oklahoma Citys season -- will end. "We know that its a situation where we lose, we go home, and nobody wants to do that, so we just leave it all out there and whatever happens we live with," Durant said. "Most of the time when we play extremely hard, play well, play together, we come out on top." Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys AuthenticWholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

1-point fourth-quarter deficit and defeat Washin

CHARLOTTE, N. Kenny Wiggins Jersey .C. -- Al Jefferson laughed when told he finished three stitches shy of a triple-double. "I have to call my agent because Im done with my modeling career," Jefferson said. Jefferson had seven stitches in the first half to repair a gash above his right eye, but returned to finish with 19 points and 11 rebounds, helping the Bobcats overcome an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit and defeat Washington 100-94 Monday night. The win prevented the Wizards from clinching their first playoff berth since 2008. Jeffersons put back off an offensive rebound with 3:30 left in the game helped the Bobcats take the lead for good at 93-92. Kemba Walker had a big second half, finishing with 21 points and 10 assists, and rookie Cody Zeller scored a career-high 15 points on 4-of-4 shooting and added eight rebounds for Charlotte. Walker scored nine points in the final quarter and the Bobcats erased a 16-point halftime deficit and pulled within two games of the Washington in the race for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs Both teams have eight games left and will meet again on April 9. "We made big shots and played well defensively in the second half and really came together as a team," Walker said. "It shows our resiliency. That was a big win for us." Bradley Beal had 20 points for the Wizards, who missed 11 of their last 14 shots from the field. "It (stinks) man," Washingtons Al Harrington said of not clinching a playoff spot. "Because obviously we played a great first half. We really thought tonight was our night, but to have them come out and play the way that they played and beat us -- thats tough." Washington still would have clinched a playoff spot if the Utah Jazz had defeated New York later Monday, but the Knicks won 92-83. The Wizards (38-36) came in looking to snap the third-longest playoff drought in the NBA -- and for a while it looked like they would. The Wizards shot 59 per cent in the first half, at one point hitting 10 straight shots from the field and scoring on 14 of 15 possessions to close the first half on a 30-7 run. The Bobcats could do little right in what Jefferson called an "embarrassing" first half. But he was confident they would battle back. Jefferson walked to the scorers table at the start of the third quarter and told whoever was in earshot, "Hey, watch this comeback." "Everyone looked at me like I was crazy," Jefferson said. "At the end of the game though people were pointing at me saying, You said it. You said it." Charlottes defence was the big difference. Coach Steve Clifford also went to a pick-and-roll with Walker and Jefferson. "The Wizards did a good job of taking away the post," Clifford said. The momentum turned four minutes into the fourth quarter when Walker came up with the loose ball off a Washington turnover and fed Chris Douglas-Roberts for a fast-break layup in traffic with 7:38 left in the game. Douglas-Roberts had to adjust in midair to get his body from one side of the rim to the other to avoid defenders and get the shot to drop. Douglas-Roberts made a 3-point play and then knocked down a long-distance 3 to cut the lead to one before Jeffersons put back gave the Bobcats the lead for good. Jefferson hit a 16-footer to push the lead to three. Walker followed with a backbreaker when he scored on a driving layup to make it 97-92 after a Bobcats possession that took more than a minute off the clock. Charlotte twice came up with key offensive rebounds, allowing Walker to bring the ball back out and reset the offence and milk time off the clock. "When you give a team two to three looks one time down the floor, theyre going to make one," said Wizards forward Drew Gooden. "I would say we lost the game giving them second and third possessions offensively." Jefferson left the game briefly at the end of the first quarter to head to the locker room to get the stitches above his right eye after taking an inadvertent elbow from Trevor Booker. "I had to get a shot to numb it and I hate needles," Jefferson said. NOTES: Gary Neal returned to action for the Bobcats after missing two games with an ankle injury. He had nine points ... The Bobcats have won four of six against Washington, but have split their two games this season. ... The Bobcats have won 11 of their last 13 at home. Denzel Perryman Jersey . The Jets have now won three straight at home and four of the last five at the MTS Centre. After a scoreless first period, Brad Marchand scored his first goal in eight games eight seconds into the second.NEWARK, N.J. -- The new owners of the New Jersey Devils are keeping long-time executive Lou Lamoriello in charge of hockey operations, bringing in a new business team and committing to make the three-time Stanley Cup champions an organization looked toward as a model of excellence. Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris and business partner David Blitzer on Thursday bought the Devils and the lease to the Prudential Center from Jeff Vanderbeek for $320 million. The deal was delayed roughly 15 minutes on Thursday morning because lawyers needed more time to sign off on the transfer of the financially strapped NHL team, which the leagues board of governors approved on Wednesday. "What I am interested in is absolute success on and off the ice, and having the highest quality people and bringing the fans a great experience and winning," said Harris, the co-founder of Apollo Global Management. Harris dispelled rumours that he might consider moving the 76ers to Newark. He has a lease at the Wells Fargo Center with Comcast Spectacor, which also owns the NHLs Flyers. "The Sixers are staying in Philly," Harris said. He added that he and Blitzer viewed the purchase of the Devils, who lost roughly $25 million in the past year, and the lease as a chance to turn around a struggling franchise. "Weve had a lot of success at identifying literally the best, highest-quality management teams and then bringing them into situations and letting them do their thing and holding them accountable," Harris said. "Other people may like to meddle in it. What we like to do in essence is agree what the vision is, what the business plan is and then resource it and allow people to do their jobs." Lamoriello has been the architect of the Devils fortunes since 1987 and thats not going to change. "I hope he stays here another 26 years," Blitzer said of the 70-year-old president and general manager. Lamoriello refused to say whether the new owners have given him a blank cheque, but added "they are committed to winning." Harris and Blitzer selected Scott ONeil as the Devils chief executive officer, a job he also has with the 76ers. The former Madison Square Garden Sports chief executive will work with both teams and Hugh Weber, the former New Orleans Hornets president, will be the everyday business leader in Newark. Harris and Blitzer, who is the senior managing director of the Blackstone Group, needed about a weeek to close the deal after talks with Philadelphia lawyer Andrew Barroway fell through. Tre Boston Jersey. Harris said he had made inquiries about buying the team months ago but they were delayed because Vanderbeek has involved in talks with another suitor. Vanderbeek, who has been the majority owner of the Devils since 2004, will remain with the team as a senior adviser. He had mixed emotions after a 10-year run in which he led the effort to build "The Rock" but couldnt raise enough money to keep the team. "It certainly is bittersweet," said Vanderbeek, who refused to say whether he retained a minority share in the team. "There were other opportunities along the way to perhaps do things differently. But you know what? At some point you have to think about the future, the larger whole, and this was the right thing when it came to that." Harris said getting the lease to the Prudential Center was an essential part of the deal because concerts at what has been an under-used facility this past year will general money. The Devils won the Stanley Cup in 1995, 2000 and 2003, and won additional Eastern Conference championships in 2001 and 2012. They missed the playoffs in the recent lockout-shortened season and were stunned when 30-year-old superstar forward Ilya Kovalchuk decided to play in his native Russia. The Devils moved to New Jersey in 1982, playing at the Meadowlands after relocating from Colorado. "This is positive for this franchise, for this building and Newark," Commissioner Gary Bettman said. "There is terrific ownership with resources and talent with can take the team and the building to the next level." Harris and Blitzer continue a trend of rich financiers buying sports teams. Some may want a play thing or bragging rights. Others see their teams as legitimate investments, a way to diversify away from just stocks and bonds. While possession of a sports team isnt necessarily a great way to bring in consistent cash profits, owners can make money if they turn a team around and sell it at a profit years down the road -- exactly what private equity firms do with struggling companies. Some financiers are hands-on owners, such as Stuart Sternberg of the Tampa Bay Rays or John Henry of the Red Sox. David Tepper owns a stake in the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Mark Attansio is principal owner of the Milwaukee Brewers. Hedge fund operator Steve Cohen owns a piece of the Mets. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

It appears former Colorado Avalanche tough guy Scott Parker felt bullied by coaches early in his NHL career, including then head coach Bob Hartley. Willie Brown Jersey . According to the Denver Post, Parker says he was pressured into fighting at the risk of losing his position on the team if he failed to do so. "He was a junior B goalie trying to tell me how to fight. He was always just degrading me. Not to be a (wimp), but he was a bully," Parker told the Denver Post. "And he could be because he was in a position of authority. What was I supposed to do as a rookie? Go tell him (expletive) you? I did that stuff at the end of my career, but at the beginning of my career, I was just a chess piece to him." Parker, who thinks he may have suffered over 20 concussions during his playing days, also alleges he was forced to play when he was injured. "He would call me a (expletive), say that Hershey (the Avs former minor-league affiliate) would be my next stop, where Id be smelling chocolate fumes all day long. I remember I thought I had a broken foot and told him about it, and he called me a (expletive) and said Hershey would love me," Parker told the Post. "Nobody needed to question my commitment to doing my job. But I was just constantly belittled by Bob Hartley. I really have no respect for the man. "If youre hurt, it doesnt matter. Youre made to think I have to fight, or Ill lose my job, " Parker added. Parker was drafted 63rd overall by the New Jersey Devils in 1996 but did not sign with the team. He was then drafted 20th overall by the Avalanche two years later. He played 237 games in two stints with the Avalanche as well as 71 games with the San Jose Sharks. He scored seven goals and added 14 assists for 21 points over that span. He also amassed 699 penalty minutes. Hartley, who is now head coach of the Calgary Flames, declined to comment on Parkers remarks. Karl Joseph Jersey . Ryan OReilly also had a goal and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 29 saves for the Avalanche, whose 12-1 start is the best in franchise history. P.A. Parenteau added an empty-net score at 19:22 of the third. Brendan Gallagher scored a power-play goal for the Canadiens. Landeskog, who had the games first goal, fired a shot from the wing that bounced away from goalie Peter Budaj. Mackinnon backhanded the rebound into the net to put the Avalanche on top 2-1 at 8:01 of the third. Little more than three minutes later, OReilly got a wraparound shot through Budaj for another goal. Montreal snapped Colorados season-long streak of 22 consecutive penalty kills on Gallaghers power-play goal at 3:38 of the third period. With Maxime Talbot in the box for slashing, P.K. Subban took a shot from the point. Giguere couldnt quite corral the puck and Gallagher, positioned at the top of the crease, knocked in the rebound to tie it 1-all. Landeskog had just climbed onto the ice to begin a shift when he got a lead pass from Marc-Andre Cliche. He built up a head of stteam as he pushed the puck down the ice before pulling up in the middle of the left circle and slapping a shot up high that rocketed over Budajs stick-side shoulder and into the corner of the net for a 1-0 Colorado lead at 11:14 of the second period. Amari Cooper Jersey. The teams fought through a scoreless first period with both Budaj and Giguere making key saves. Before the game, the Avalanche retired the No. 52 jersey of longtime defenceman Adam Foote in ceremonies that had the crowd roaring before the puck was even dropped. Foote, whose 19-year NHL career included two Stanley Cup titles with Colorado, was praised as the ultimate competitor and warrior by his former teammate, Avalanche executive Joe Sakic. NOTES: Avs left wing Jamie McGinn, who has missed the last three games with a knee injury, has resumed practicing and is expected to return Wednesday against Nashville. ... Cody McLeod was back on the ice for Colorado after serving a five-game suspension for his hit on Niklas Kronwall of Detroit. ... Andrei Markov is one game from his 700th with the Canadiens. ...
